Epic thread bump… but I had a go at this earlier and it ended badly.

Loosening the sensor was a bit tighter than I expected and I ended up breaking the hard line. Cue sudden spray of refrigerant. Felt pretty bad as obviously this is not good for the environment.

At the moment I am trying to pin down which line will need to be replaced. Does anybody have a parts diagram that covers it? I’ll be getting a garage to do for sure…

Edited to add, I did notice some AC dye under the sensor and it didn’t look too old. Gut feeling is it had been cross threaded in the past.

For the benefit of others, the AC man I spoke to said that the official procedure to replace the sensor is to drain the system, despite it having its own valve. I think I was unlucky, but I can see why they would say that.

If you are replacing the sensor and not draining, at the very least wear some eye protection/gloves and have some towels handy.

I tried to do this and noticed the whole pipe was turning, so I just stopped.
Anyone any tips on how to loosen it off safely? Could do with a bit of A/C at the minute!
