Probably the new BMW 1 series with an engine focused more on economy than power. I think the Ed30 will be my last 300+ bhp car, too many mobile speed cameras and average speed cameras around now. Having had a Mk7.5 R before the Ed30 and after seeing the Mk8 Golf in the flesh I definitely won't be getting another Golf.

Change the pollen filter for a start as this block up and prevent air flow and also check the door seals.

I have had a couple of Mk5's and found the door seal joints at the bottom of the car come away from the bodywork........which then lets in moisture that creates condensation.

Hi All,

Can't seem to get a straight answer on this one question no matter what I read and where. I've got a 56 plate 2007 VW Golf MK5 GT 170. It's got the standard factory satnav in it at the

Nice upgrades!

Are u happy with the exhaust? any droning?

I think you'll find nothing but good reviews on the Milltek cat-back. I think it's just a slightly louder and definitely deeper sound over stock. Even my Mom likes it  :signLOL:

All I need to do now is transfer the three wires from the currently fitted plug with its broken retainer clip across to the new plug. Looking at the new plug, it looks like the plug is comprised of two parts, back plastic housing and a grey plastic inner which looking closely has some clips.

I have quite a bit to do. I have the front suspension to replace, entire wiring harness, new front "sheet metal"and a few other items if I get ambitious. Hope to have as much done as I can to try to make it to Cops N Rodders

Last Poster: MKM in Sat Nav and Car Audio on November 29, 2020, 08:17:10 PM

I've just bought a VW with this Kenwood in, and it has very old navi-map.
When I wanted to update it, I found that both Kenwood and Garmin dont support it anymore
But I see there is hope, unfortunately Im not good at it, so I need to have it step by step as a kid with no references :)
I have, not quit sure how, updated the software to vers. 1

Another update ...This time in the shape of a new exhaust as the original one was in a right state and had a hole in the centre box so at this point i thought it was a good idea to do the R32 rear end conversion i had planned from the start of buying this car i just think the R32 rear looks so much better.

So as for the Exhaust thought about this for a while having had

Speaking of rough idling, with all the Covid nonsense and consequential short journeys, my idle quality suffered massively.

LiquiMoly injection cleaner cleared it right up.  I'm not normally a believer of miracle cure chemicals, but this stuff actually works!   Only 7 quid as well, so che

Pre ignition/ misfire

For the past 2 months ive been experiencing something like pre ignition or misfire, really not sure which one it is. Half the time when i let go of gas pedal theres a pop sound coming below the driver seat possibly exhaust? Definitely did not sound from engine front, Sounded below. Only happens after letting pedal go and doesn’t do it all the time. Sometimes is quite frequent and o

No one likes a loose rear end, especially after a hot curry.

All 4 tyres at the same pressure as per the sticker on petrol flap?

Sounds like worn dampers to me.  If it's on OEM suspension, the gas tends to leak out of the dampers way before they start to leak oil. Can be front or rear, or both.

Anyway, worn parts at either end can feel like it's t

A video clip will help.

A lot of German engines use straight cut teeth on the oil pump gears which can be noisy from cold, but other than that I can't thing of anything that would make a noise from cold.

They do indeed, but your post was somewhat vague, hence my flippant response

You need either an 02E DQ250 6 speed DSG from the MK5/6, or a 7 speed DQ500 DSG gearbox from the MK7.  The latter is more complicated electronically in terms of retrofit.

You will also need a supporting DSG engine ECU, pedals, console stick, paddles, stee

Exactly that, RE: pivot points and moments of interia.

Technically speaking, all ARBs do is alter the cornering feel to your choosing, because ultimately the final word on mechanical grip is the tyre contact patch.....but that old adage about some cars being greater than the sum of their parts.  Equip a MK5 with the right bits and the results are quite surprising, even b

Sign up to the ECU Connections forum.  Pretty sure someone on there will have harness diagrams for MED9.

Or Google 'Bosch MED 9.1 Pin out'

Plenty of info out there if you put in the effort.

I think you are confusing ancient old American V8s with modern DI engines

German engines haven't run carbs since the 1980s.  Wrong car, wrong forum fella.

    2007 MK5 Golf GTI Edition 30 3dr manual black 2 owners 141k miles

posted on behalf of @DannyboyED30 (the second owner) who is now selling the car , of which I (@john_o) was the first owner from new.

      @DannyboyED30 states  :

I am Selling my Manual, 3dr Edition 30.
I have owned this beautiful car for almost 3 years now,
I bought it from the guy who put the order in at VW and owned it from brand new...
He used it to commute from Warrington to Manchester daily, so it's had some pretty easy miles in it's lifetime.
The previous owner (a middle aged man) had Bilstein B12 suspension installed, Audi S3 front brake setup and also a Revo remap to really make the most out of the engine.
This car has genuinely only ever been run on Shell Vpower fuel, the previous owner documented his ownership of this car in an online blog.

Some photos of the car are here : https://photos.app.goo.gl/v7tjSUYrurm9wKcU6

In my ownership I've had a

      Sachs organic clutch installed,
the cam chain and tensioner replaced
      brand new rear brake calipers.

The car benefits from a fully stamped up service book, loads of history and even the original purchase pack, receipt and options list.
I've had the car looked after by UK renowned VAG specialist The Phirm in my ownership and have invoices for 3k plus for various jobs keeping the car 100%.
I believe this car is mechanically perfect and will be reliable for many, many years to come.
The previous owner had a couple of parking dings, which i've included pictures of...the wheels could also do with a refurb, but if you want a reliable and well cared for ED30 this is the one.
Always run on matching Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, 2 brand new tyres fitted last week. It's just been MOT'd (no advisories) and had a full service carried out.
It's good to go and be enjoyed by the new owner. Selling due to a house move and purchasing an estate!
The Thule roof rack will be included in the sale, but not the bike carrier.

This is a rare chance to own a highly prized Edition 30, with the unique opportunity to be able to talk to the only 2 owners of the car from new, much of which is also recorded on @john_o  s personal blog

      Next MOT due 21/10/2021
Full service history, Black, 2 owners

Edition 30 Rear Valance -Pearl Black (Genuine Part)
      Single Image
        Location: Manchester
        Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

Other than the surface cracks and some minor scuffs, the valance can go straight on. You will need a towing eye cover though.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.

£200 - collection only from Manchester.
