I’d take a look at the cam follower, pcv and dv if they’ve not been changed. You’re lucky having a 57 plate checking the cam follower is much easier. Mines a 55 plate and the banjo bolt is a fiddly b*****d to remove, luckily your doesn’t have that.

Also, with the pcv while the cars running pull out the dip stick a little if the engine starts to sound like its going to st

I’ve bought cars with no history in the past but always because they were a good price.

I recently bought a 58 plate 1.9tdi match mk5 for my mum that had done 140k with no history. From looking at the car i could tell it had been looked after (new tyres, brakes, clean oil, new battery) after buying it I called the vw dealer that was on the reg plates to then find out it

@reidy- Hi there, sort of my situation but in reverse! Love the MK7 visually, the front end, the sharp lines and the overall stance but I too was left feeling a little underwhelmed.
Don't get me wrong, the MK7 is a g

Are  you changing the door cards too?

No. I prefer the Mk6 doorcards but the Mk5 ones still fit the profile of the Mk6 dash. Plus the Mk6 ones have different mounting points.

Check for broken wires coming from the a pillar to the drivers door, it's not uncommon for them to break.

I cant remember if it functioned with my CD changer or not and have now change my stereo so dont have that functionality anymore but can confirm mine scans through the Radio frequencies rather than selecting my stored stations.

GTI running low temp?
Last Poster: Wakkk in Mk5 General Area on February 24, 2020, 11:44:03 PM
Hi guys

Got a mk5 gti (57 plate) dsg recently.

I’ve noticed it is running low on oil temp than normal, after a 4 hour drive it didn’t go past 80+, and normally stays around the 70 mark. Is this a serious issue and if so what do I do?
