As you know we have moved to a more reasonably priced server.

I have setup this PayPal pool. Don't go crazy  :rolleye:  I think the hosting will cost 20 to 25 a month but maybe less.

I would also like to add an anti spam subscription which will cost 8 a year. DONE

All good diligence there nbsp :happy2:

I had a bad injector cause a dead misfire at 80K, so I just replaced all 4 because, well, why not. nbsp It'#039s a ball ache removing the intake manifold and once one lets go, the others will follow.

These engines totally rely on the injectors for mpg and smooth running, but the harsh nature of GDI kills them off, especially on sh

If it'#039s slipping in 5th and 6th it'#039s properly had it. nbsp

I'#039ve only noticed slip in 4th up a steep hill at 3500rpm, and that was after a remap. nbsp

For a standard car to slip in 5th/6th @ 55K, someone has either coated the friction disc in KY jelly, or some pretty sh1t clutch control has occurred over a long period.

As useful as KY is for solving f

Needs some chintzy vajazzle dangley faux crystal Victoria Beckham designed dangley bits to go with it nbsp :happy2:

Out of general public interest, I asked VW how much for a new 3 door, black, sunroof headliner........ £980+VAT.

Nice, I'#039ll take 3 please. nbsp Along with £450 for a new ED30 manual gear knob/gaiter and £650 for a new ED30 non multi-function steering

Aye! Take the side skirts off, rub your chin and hmmmmm at the situation, stick the skirts back on. nbsp Nothing to see here, moving swiftly on nbsp

It'#039s only cosmetic though. nbsp The core structure is strong as WW2 pill boxes and why they respond so well to chassis mods nbsp :happy2:

No mate, your engine won'#039t suffer any damage, don'#039t worry.

The only thing that rings a bell of concern is the primary O2 sensor fault code. nbsp That'#039s the one next to the turbo and responsible for the bulk of the fuel adjustment.

It may just be a bad sensor, they only last approx. 100K miles and may need replacing, but '#039no signal'#039 is concerning. nbsp Perhaps

Re: MK7 Golf R front brakes
Last Poster: Pudding in Performance Modifications on Today at 12:24:17 am
Yes the massive pads and discs are what bring about the biggest improvements in braking, at the cost of pedal feel....and unsprung weight (to a large degree). nbsp Leverage, friction, dead mass and physics at play here.

The first cm of pedal travel is dead/soft compared to OEM due to Master Cylinder volume vs caliper volume mismatching. nbsp The fix for that is the larger 25mm

Re: Racing line dogbone mount
Last Poster: Pudding in Performance Modifications on Today at 12:10:27 am
The Racingline one is a sack of sh1t.  The one to get is the Vibratechnics.  Vibratechnics make the Racingline one anyway but they (Racingline) specified a durometer that's too stiff.  Racingline don't make anything themselves.  They are overpriced charlatans.

Front:

Top mount bolts = 15nm + 90 degrees. nbsp Arrows on top mount must face North/south on the vehicle. Always use TT top mounts, GTI ones are rubbish.
24mm Driveshaft hub bolt (if it needs to come out) = 200nm + 180 degrees.
Drop link nuts = 65nm.
Strut pinch bolt = 70nm + 90 degrees
Damper rod to top mount nut = 60nm (always use an OEM 21mm shoulder

So you'#039re saying it might be '#039user error'#039 ?

For context, I have a Helix clutch in my Edition 30 with Revo Stage 1 map. nbsp When I shift and nail the gas, the power kicks back in hard and smoothly. nbsp Absolutely no drop in power. nbsp It doesn'#039t matter how clumsy I am with the clutch, it just pulls hard all the time.

Any kind of clutch slip or ECU intervened powe

Re: Stage 2 clutch upgrade
Last Poster: Pudding in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 10:24:18 pm
The Helix is a great option. nbsp I'#039m on my second. nbsp First one did 60K daily driving with OEM smoothness and no issues. nbsp Only replaced with another one because the gearbox was replaced, and whilst in you'#039re in there and all that. nbsp And speaking of that, budget for a rear main seal. nbsp The factory fitted plastic one is cr@p. nbsp VW changed it to a metal housing version which is a lot

Get new calipers, not worth p1ssing about rebuilding with shagged ones in my experience. nbsp It'#039s not really a '#039rebuild'#039, rather a band aid attempting to drag them out for a bit longer.

Get a pair, because we all know it, once you'#039ve done one side, the other side will go soon after.

It'#039s a w@nky design of caliper and is an '#039every 5 year'#039 job it seems. nbsp F

Re: Transmission whine around 30mph
Last Poster: Pudding in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 09:32:47 pm
Normal.  1st & 2nd gears are huge.  More teeth = more noise + thin OEM gear oil = even more noise.

For extra reassurance, I fitted a 30K old 2011 MK6 gearbox last year.  Tight as a gnat's chuff but still the same whine in the lower gears

VAG have never made a decent manual.  Turn the stereo up and ignore it  :happy2:

You'#039ve only got SS on the front though iirc? nbsp It'#039s difficult to draw conclusions and have fair comparisons vs a car that has SS on each corner to be fair.

200 miles is nothing. nbsp Give it a 1000 and report back nbsp

I'#039ll tell you the biggest difference for me....... 70+mph corners. Yes, there are a few of them where I live, mainly slip roads. nbsp The PS4
