oooh, BBS ck's, nice, car looks very nice, what other mods does it have
-
Very nice car! (even if CW is a little common around these parts )
-
Your lower rear diffuser.............I need that in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen similar on Lotus Elise's. Where did you get it from???????!!!!
(I am talking about the part that is at the very bottom of the back, with the vertical slats)
-
welcome and that diffuser is 8)
-
A friend of mine made the diffuser, it is very sturdy, and made from high grade aluminum covered with carbon fiber, total weight is about 7 lbs
It is very unique that is for sure, and it keeps the back of the car a little cleaner than normal

Nice mods mate :happy2:
Thanks, I am going to dyno again in December hopefully we have some cooler weather, because the cooler the better for this car.
In december I will post a video after my track day at Sebring, which is a very nice 3.7 mile long track with 17 turns and a bitch on brakes

nice, look forward to seeing the video :-) , what sort of power do you think it kicks out ?
-
I dynoed at 318 whp/319wtq on a 38 degree day, I know I will have more on a nice cool day, hopefully December dyno will show that
Eventhough I have no LSD, last time at Sebring the only street cars passing me were Z06 Corvettes, 911Turbo's, 350Z TT, and an ENZO !! and a "pesky" gutted 230 whp Civic on slicks :-))
It is a lot of fun on the track, you should see the faces of the Cayman S, 335i etc drivers, they can't believe I just blew by them

Just looking at your sig....
What is an ECS pulley, and the Snow Meth Kit??
-
The ECS Pulley is the under Pulley made by ECS a US Company, I don;t think it did anything significant, but it was relatively inexpensive, and should help throttle response a little
The SNOW Meth Kit, is a Water/methanol injection kit, that enables you to run the 100 octane program from GIAC, APR (in my case) or REVO or any other tuner software that can tune it for 100 octane
It makes you run cooler so you can use more boost (I am at 22/23psi)
Compared to my "regular 93 octane program I gained about 20 whp/20wtq
The added benefit is that it keeps the engine super clean :-))

Lovely car mate, and a nice list of mods there to :happy2: :jumpmove:
-
Welcome Mike. I've seen your car a few times over on MKV's and it is delicious
That rear lower valance is simply stunning too.
-
hey, welcome! nice looking gti
-
Thanks guys, appreciate the :happy2:
If anybody wants the rear diffuser I can see what the price would be with a limited production, and shipping cost to the UK.
The dimensions and weight are not that high, so it might be reasonable
Let me know if you are interested

Hey Mike, welcome ! another american !!!

any vids of the track time ?
-
hey mike nice wheels and a very good lists of mods there fella. have you eny pals who also have mk5 golfs if so if so tell them about the fun house
-
Thanks again for the positive response on my car, I really love the car and the way she handles on track while not compromising daily driveability
Actually I only live part-time in the States, I am Dutch from origin (Amsterdam), and live (for now) most of the time in Aruba.
I have a video of my first US track event (with mandatory instructor) from October, but by the time I had my line and braking points memorized, I was running out of brakes big time :-((
My best lap (without too much traffic) was a 2:50 flat, I am sure that with my new brake Upgrade (StopTech 4 piston/14" front rotors + Carbotech XP10 pads), I should be able to get into the low 2:40's maybe better, because I am SOLO qualified now and that sheds 180 lbs from the instructor as well.
I proberbly take out the rear seat and spare as well, so I should shave about 250 to 280lbs (about 10%), which should help getting me into the high 2:30's on street tires (I Hope)
I will go to Sebring again on December 13th, and to Moroso (new track) on the 14th, and I will make as much video as possible, and I will for sure post those on youtube and post up the link for you guys to watch
Mike
