Been around this site for ages but unfortunately deleted my build thread ages ago by mistake. :star:

Finally getting around to putting one back up after being nagged to for ages. :innocent:

Anyway, this is how the car started out life.....saw an advert for her at Letchworth Autoways SEAT, put a deposit down over the phone....flew down from Inverness a couple of days later and she was mine.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FReaders_Ride_Thread_stuff%2Fmediga.jpg&hash=9064fb699837ca0709b6db7867bcf2a3daafcebf)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FReaders_Ride_Thread_stuff%2Fmedia2.jpg&hash=04946c1c610613f07225e924c9ec67bff1aa5966)

Kept her as she was for a while before again beginning down the inevitable slippery modification slope!

I started with a few cosmetic modifications like kick panel protectors.....

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FReaders_Ride_Thread_stuff%2F2012-09-05_14-27-20_HDR.jpg&hash=96cd4d56795fb8e47e47c2b3a771a577b660eee2)

 Triple R front splitter........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FSCN_RR_Stuff_from_Oct_12_onwards%2F2012-10-31_11-21-25_HDR.jpg&hash=2acfaa74eeebf3e2e3a7b71cbdfa5605b05d4d9a)

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FSCN_RR_Stuff_from_Oct_12_onwards%2F2012-10-31_11-57-37_HDR.jpg&hash=90775b9bf6e52e94fc50bf707fcf13897638da81)

Also upgraded the standard climate control unit to the facelift version (equivalent to switching from the mk5 to the mk6 versions.)

I also swapped the horrendous standard head unit for a RNS-510 which works nicely with the highline display.

Standard.....

Upgraded.....

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Freaders_ride_2013%2FFL_Climate%2F20131204_171743_zps774ac050.jpg&hash=303e49fa99a57a1b97479c91e5dddd5405639067)

Please excuse the greasy fingerprints.... :ashamed:

I then got carried away (like most of us do) over the next few years and ended up with the spec list as seen in the first post. Too many pictures to sort through in this department but it's safe to say the car is setup lovely for track use and she does get quite a few outings each year. :innocent:

Chatting to Simon @toosmiles (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=8438) during a cool down period. Think I must've been in the car?

A few videos..............

My mate chasing me in the ASBO....video filmed from a Stg 2+ Audi A3 at Blyton Park.....was a great day out playing with friends!

There have been ups and downs of course......(plastic clip on clutch pipe snapped).....

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2Freaders_ride_2014%2F2014-05-15_08-53-54_HDR_zpstfimk00w.jpg&hash=26d2712d55f29a52b5b9a517a28d2f4f2428e087)

The car has spent a fair amount of time down at Deep Shine Details getting much needed TLC over the years to try and keep her looking half decent after all the track action! A huge thanks to Carlo and Adi for looking after the car for me, it always emerges looking like new! :happy2:

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Freaders_ride_2014%2Fdeep_shine_day%2F2014-05-02_11-07-56_HDR_zps1tfl21nb.jpg&hash=ab11b739c08b0b2b7cfd607bb2f098f9f9bdb31d)

Cowboy Carlo @monte (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=878) trying to persuade me to get a full vinyl wrap!

Dude, how many times have you swapped between ;Blues' and 'Yellows'?  I have a set of yellows waiting for me at AKS but after switching from Textar to Blues (Including a good wet and dry scrub) I got bad judder.

Keep up the good work, our Cupras are twins! haha

I love how the underbody brace tightened the rear end up, made it feel just like I've always wanted it to! :)

Good to chat to you again earlier buddy, I'll be sure to try your Dii address next week.

I've never had a problem when changing my pads......always rubbed the disks down thoroughly and taken them out for a proper bedding in session. Last time I ran the RS2-9's for a week before going on track to ensure a decent layer of pad had been laid down. Not sure if it makes a difference but I was swapping from RS4-2's so the same manufacturer at least?

Cupra twins it is buddy, just mine that's got the stupid ASBO bodykit!

Very nice Cupra!  :happy2:

Can't wait to see the update!

BTW: I've just bought the S3 rear brakes for mine, did they make a difference on track? I'm a bit concern about the added weight.

Thanks mate, much appreciated! :star:

The S3 rears are a nice upgrade, I initially found they slowed my lap times on track as they changed the way the car handled in the corners under hard braking. With the smaller Cupra rears the back end would "break away" more easily under braking into a corner and I found this to be the way I liked the car to handle. Once the 310's were on these removed the loose rear end under big braking so I had to change my driving style to suit. Now I'm used to it (and I've had the handling tweaked to suit) I'm totally happy with how it handles!
:driver:

You really shouldn't notice any difference in the weight as it's very minimal! :innocent:

This one is especially Marmite due to the ASBO bodykit......loads of people hate them but it takes all sorts I suppose! :happy2:

Well, a lot of stuff has been happening to the car over the past few months but I've been out of the country "on business" for most of the time so haven't had time to write an update.

Firstly the car went into @vRSAlex (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1981) at AKS Tuning for some surgery where it had the following fitted........

New TTE420 Turbo.....
AEM Dual Port WMI Kit........with AKS spacer install.....
TTRS LPFP.........
155bar FPRV..........
AKS runner flap delete.......
PERON intercooler..........
Ground Control Top Mounts........
Polar FIS...........

A Polar FIS was also added to keep a constant eye on how the car was behaving from now on.

Whilst the RFD was fitted my injectors/inlets were cleaned and a new injector fitted to ensure everything was running well before tuning. The Ground Control Top Mounts were fitted and another epic Geo Setup performed creating such and amazing handling car, it's SO pointy!!
 :driver:

Alex txt me whilst I was away and told me he wanted to keep my car! :scared:

I was out of the country so Alex then delivered the car up to @rtechniki (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1870) to have him wave his magic wand over the ECU and see what he could do with this new hardware setup.

This was only the 2nd TTE420 Niki had worked on so the mapping was completed over a few weeks. This was to allow him time to develop and tweak base maps before moving onto more "balls out" ones! :jumpmove:

These were the results after the first day.........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Freaders_ride_2015%2FTTE420_upgrade%2FScreenshot_2015-06-30-16-25-56_zpsx1z5ftcu.png&hash=5660e0af34ef0aee08f4538c7c27a9355470ab84)

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Freaders_ride_2015%2FTTE420_upgrade%2F11210354_10206617287090769_291183461_n_zpscgkxlrso.jpg&hash=8874ce62131b294f8d6fa4339909af826eaa3144)

I'd asked Alex/Niki to create a linear power delivery for me as peak figures are not what I'm after. I wanted to have a really driveable car that would perform as both my daily and track sl@g when required. To say that's what I've been given is an understatement, it's drives almost like an OEM K04 but when pushed just boosts and boosts with no sign of letting up. The WMI keeps the temps down (which you can see falling on the POLAR FIS) and now it's had the RFD done it pops and bangs a fair bit which I'm shamelessly over the moon about!

The map obviously has all the standard R Tech Trademarks including switchable maps via the pedals, anti compressor surge and Traction Control mapping which is a revelation.......I've now got more power but can put it down more easily than when I was Stg 2+.......all this and with ZERO Correction Factors throughout the entire rev range in all gears :happy2:

The WMI wasn't even mapped in so the timing could be pushed harder but tbh I'm totally happy with it the way it is.

We did run into an issue during mapping which was the 200cell Milltek Sports CAT just couldn't get the gasses out fast enough and wasn't happy up at the top end.

Solution.........3.5" BCS DeCAT Downpipe has been ordered along with a full BCS system to boot. Once that's fitted it's going back to be wound up some more to see what it makes then! :innocent:

A couple of hints to other drivers who are in the know.........

Fantastic curves too, must feel great on the road. I've been banging on about just how good the R-Tech traction control mapping is for ages. It really makes a worthwhile difference with powerful FWD cars. . .

My mate is after a few more pops & bangs from his K1 so I'll point him in the direction of the RFD

Congrats on a superb motor.

Quick question, everyone says you have to run WMI to keep the temperature down as the TTE 420 turbo generates alot of heat. I get that.

Whats the practicality of this though? When your sitting in traffic give the engine some WM/ on full chat for sustained period? Or am I completely missing the point..? Having got the kit, what are your experiences?

I'm considering BT VS hybrid having got a forged engine. Just trying to get some first hand experience from someone.

If you have a forged engine a BT is the right choice, i have the Precision 5558 on my car pushing 489bhp 546Nm with ease, forged engine and hybrid is overkill imo  :happy2:

^^^^^^This! If my engine was forged then I'd 100% have gone down the BT route.
My mapping was completed without the WMI turned on and made 420 bhp without any heat issues. With WMI it'll take that in its stride! :happy2:

Pfff, don't ruin it, 4x4 on track is added weight and transmission loss. :(
Don't know how 420bhp feels, but I do know that with Wavetrack LSD and 380bhp rarely I feel the need for more traction on track.
My friend Bogdanbd has done it, i told him the same. A monster project with no real benefit.

So, the car has been in with the guys at R TECH having the map tweaked after the exhaust being changed.

Here's some of the early results from FB.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2FMobile_Uploads%2FFB_IMG_1438450921661_zpsjwn2zqwv.jpg&hash=b690fee9a8567a4bd500c49f0b7a691561e7fd60)

440.7bhp and 427.7fl/lb.

Cannot wait to get her back, planning Snetterton 300 on September the 17th, should be a good shakedown.

That's an impressive power output! I'm hoping to get to the 400bhp mark in my Golf R, was looking at hybrid turbos but considering a Garrett GT3071R with Revo software. I also wanted to avoid WMI but the more big power cars I see, the more I can't help but think the extra effort of WMI is worth it for the safety of the engine.

Not much has changed recently with the car, I've been out of the county a lot so haven't had much chance to enjoy her.

I did pop down to see @rtechniki (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1870) the other day who kindly patched in a hard-cut limiter for me......now I'm like a child......brap......bap......bap.....bap.....!!!! :pomppomp:

Niki has lowered the Rev limit in first and second gears so it's much easier to get the power down and off the mark......plus it sounds ace too!!! :happy2:

Can you explain the "patched in hard cut limiter"? What is this, for 1/4mile? Do you have a manual box?

Cheers, Stevie.

Hey mate,

I went down to Niki who "patched in" (uploaded to my existing ECU map) an update that added the Hard-Cut limiter option.

This isn't necessarily for 1/4 mile (as I have zero interest in that) but it would help as it really helps get off the mark due to the rev limit in 1st & 2nd being lowered etc.

Yes I have a manual box matey. :happy2:

Cheers for the reply. So it limits the amount of revs you can hit in 1st and 2nd gear? Until you are rolling?

Stevie.

Yes matey, the limit is lowered in both 1st and 2nd gears and you get a lovely sounding Hard-cut limiter when you hit it!! :pomppomp:

Booked myself onto another trackday......this time at Blyton Park this coming Sunday. :jumpmove:

@Neilgti (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1306) is coming along with me to come out in the ASBO!

Also @monte (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=878) might be joining me on track too and finally stretching his lovely Eddy's legs properly again!

There's quite a few local guys going up so it should be a good day out........ @Tfsi_Mike (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=293) might be making a guest appearance too now he's back from the South Atlantic! :pomppomp:

I bet this thing is a bit of a weapon! Id be tempted to go more standard looking sleeper style!

Theres not enough pictures in here!

Would you tell me what you did regarding the ESP? Did you somehow code it right out? I could do with doing that, i always have to switch ESP off and the flashing light does my nut in!

Thanks buddy......funny you should say that I've just removed the front splitter and raised the ride height a little so it does look pretty standard.......apart from the brakes and wheels! :happy2:

You're right about the pictures matey, I'll try to get some more this weekend at the track......videos too!

I can't remember exactly what we did with the ESP coding, you'd have to ask Alex at AKS about that one.

If the yellow light is flashing then the ESP isn't totally off.....its just subdued a little. Now mines been coded the lights stays on solidly and the ESP will not cut back in AT ALL! :rolleye:

So, I treated the ASBO to a trackday last weekend at my very local track......Blyton Park. The new additions of the TTE420/WMI and supporting mods complimented perfectly by the custom linear track orientated map by R Tech ensured that the power delivery was perfect and predictable all day long.
The new handling mods and extremely aggressive GeoSetup by Alex @ AKS meant that I was pushing even the most track orientated open wheeled cars through the corners! Once out onto the straights the TTE420 could be unleashed and I was blasting past cars that @ 2+ would've been out of my reach!

It was great that a few guys from the Forum could join me..... @monte (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=878) joined me on track in his gorgeous Eddy which was excellent to see stretching its legs. @Tfsi_Mike (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=293) & @Neilgti (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1306) joined us both for passenger rides in the morning which was a great laugh too!

I did get a bit of a wrist slap after my first session for exceeding the track noise limits of 95dB......the Javelin boys were good as gold though and just asked me to "go easy" past the noise monitor!

It takes some amount of effort to get a decent number of people to commit to a date just to begin with.  I attempted a sprint day last year and didn't get too far.  Perhaps I didn't give enough time before hand.  As soon as dates for Spring track days go online we could try again :)

Yeah I did think it would be a challenge considering it can be difficult just to get people to turn up to a show stand

But yeah with plenty of notice and a track that's not too far from people I would think we could get at least 5 cars on track and maybe a few visitors.

That sounds ace to me guys.....it is always hard organising something like this as everyone's lives are so busy and different.

Maybe if we do try (as Mike said) to get one organised as early as possible then it'd work?

I'm 100% up for it in principle!!

Mate I live in Berkshire so these lot are 3-4 hours from me I believe. That's why we can maybe pick a more central track or just get a hotel which is what I normally do. Be nice to try a few different roads as well.

Well, it's been a LONG time since I posted on here....... :ashamed:

Been crazy busy with work and hardly in the country! :sad1:

I popped down to AKS Tuning on Tuesday and they changed my Cam Chain and Tensioner to ease my OCD stresses. Whilst there they also gave the car a once over and fitted a lovely braided hose that replaces the solid clutch pipe and swirl pot weak point in the engine bay.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fbignod00%2Freaders_ride_2015%2Freceived_10154137366762244_zpsobpg9hmf.jpeg&hash=68c05fd788682f4c036cdfb5360cbc8c8659aaaf)

The clutch feels awesome now, really smooth pedal travel and it's nice knowing that crappy swirl pot and plastic clips are gone.

Alex also showed me how to remove the airbag from my OEM Cupra steering wheel, god what a total pain in the hoop it is!!!!!

Glad to have finally fitted the new wheel, it feels amazing and really cannot wait to try it on track! I changed the control module to a newer CH version which enabled all the buttons to work as it has 12 compared to the original 8. Unfortunately SEAT in their infinite wisdom have done something wacky with the G85 steering wheel sensor so I've had to order a slightly different version to fix an annoying niggle but it'll be all good in the end!

Had a good weekend down at GTI Spring Festival at Santa Pod with a load of great guys, especially enjoyed the beers the night prior to the event at the Hotel!

I must of been walking about with my eyes closed to have missed this at GTI Spring Festival! That, or I was too distracted with my rubbish times on the strip.

How has the TTE420 held up? I'm considering making the leap to one myself (along with an R-Tech map) but want to know what they're like for daily driving.

The TTE is brilliant buddy, zero issues with it.  Daily you dont notice the difference, almost OEM spool with only a slight increase in boost noise.  Once you stand on the loud pedal though it's a different matter!

Out of interest how long has your car been tuned at what stages?

Got a BWJ lump going in mine next month and considering a couple of options but really want to keep reliability as can't be bothered to piss about like last time with the AXX. When does reliability become a concern?

Cheers  :happy2:

Major update so please forgive me........

The ASBO is set up excellently for track use and does enjoy a spirited fast road session occasionally but being FWD she's always struggled to put the power down at slow speeds in the real world. I finally had enough and decided to take the AWD plunge.

The AWD bits were sourced from an S3 being broken at a perfect time for me.

First the interior was stripped to access the floorpan.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154377867787244_zps00aqdjrm.jpeg&hash=038d33bc4c75504fee1c40b05cfae46776f12705)

Then the scary part..........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154377846927244_zpseffluv6f.jpeg&hash=f9d8c92eefce4d5b011d048500560b3b56ad3a4f)

All welded up........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154378563357244_zps1ruojer5.jpeg&hash=6a9220205402339a264f2e87d8deb6ac9fb9affb)

New supports added for the Propshaft......

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154378803057244_zpskw7kdrwy.jpeg&hash=4ae4abfbdae077b7dc6e50407acb9bdaef6a35d5)

The original rear subframe was looking a little worse for wear so was replaced by a much newer one before adding all the Haldex goodies.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154377864377244_zpsf1wiujen.jpeg&hash=7e3754bb46fba28e8dfc3e66ac8ed3e71c5c3b96)

I wanted the new AWD box to be bulletproof so it was fully stripped and rebuilt adding strengthening mods such as stronger shift forks and the input shaft mod. As I previously had a Quaiffe LSD I wanted to keep one in this new box, this time I chose the Peloquins High Torque option.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154431111357244_zpsuwr0kglw.jpeg&hash=bf6bf8c8b97c2a595ed9a323dc2e537fd7134d1c)

Unfortunately I needed to change my almost new BCS exhaust for ANOTHER new BCS exhaust but this one being the AWD version. Some custom modifications were of course needed and this one is super loud!!!!

There were of course other bits that needed changing to the AWD versions along the way too like the ARB's.......

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154431111322244_zpsu2tnyp3z.jpeg&hash=a9459ea29a9e47b800455bb1bf71063b963f9b3f)

The rear brakes too but just because they were destroyed..........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2Freceived_10154431111282244_zpshxnrpnsl.jpeg&hash=df529138f62808499148f80ed990143a5ef8c083)

Custom Haldex wiring loom made up.......

Everything fitted and ready to go.........

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FReaders_Ride_2016%2FAWD_Conversion%2FFB_IMG_1473413309906_zpsuo70liod.jpg&hash=b2a518285f4c600ba0e9a101aab9636fe40d9fc4)

There were so many other bits that needed changing along the way too that I cannot be bothered to list but safe to say it's all sorted!

It's just so epic having traction now, 420bhp with no spin is intoxicating.

All work carried out by AKS Tuning in Bedford so big thanks to @vRSAlex (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1981) and Chris.

What an update! I can only imagine how good it feels to floor it in 2nd and GRIP. That's a dream for me!

Are you now keeping an eye on things that are taking more stress? As sh*t as wheelspin is, it probably helps keeping things from breaking.

Enjoy the 'new car' mate. I bet it's mega.

I'd love to see some videos. Standing starts, rolling starts from 30mph etc. Must be close to or under 4 seconds to 60 with the TTE420. I'm not a great fan of 0-60 bragging rights, but I'll be really honest... it's because I'm fwd

Wow!! Amazing update. Please tell us more about it??

I've emailed Paul in AKS requesting a guide price for this conversion on a DSG MK5 GTI :happy2: Waiting to hear back from him

I would be very keen to go down this route once my car is beyond 300hp and 300ft/lb.

Would you be happy to give a rough idea of what the conversion cost is? No worries, and totally understand if you'd prefer not to on an open forum

Cheers,
Dave

Sweet work mate, glad I got a 6R and saved myself the time and heartache of chopping my old GTI up! You seen that there's a TTE480 out now that TTE420 owners can upgrade to for quite cheap? Combined with RS3 injectors you should be good for a considerable bit more power from your engine...

I'll be sure to get some videos for you then buddy, it now shoots some ridiculous flames so I'll get some of that too! :innocent:

I'm the same, never been interested in launching but probably because it was FWD as well. I hadn't even thought about the 0-60 time until you'd mentioned it........hmmmmm!

I've had the ASBO for 8 years now, she's gone too far to start it all again now.

The TTE480 requires a forged engine so if I do that it'll be a Nortech GTX3071 kit and some serious power. :pomppomp:

Totally understand. 100%. Such a cool conversion. Fair play to you for having the stones to pull it off!!

Absolutely can't wait to see this with a forged motor and a big blower gonna be even epicer (is that even a word?) than it already is :happy2:

Saw this parked up outside AKS last Thursday while getting my dsg box swapped and recognised it off here as last year was messaging u about wheel clearance on our brakes with oz ultras  :happy2:

Seeing stuff like this makes me more tempted to go hybrid on my s3 but it's plenty quick enough for me so far, as for 0-60 times mine at stage2+ can get under 4 seconds no problem so yours should be a good few tenths faster than mine with the extra power off the line  :driver:

Enjoy the new found grip

Have you spoken to Hurdy? He was 500+ with a BT (think it was the Nortech) on his CDL. Stock innards. Although he did say to me that he wouldn't have taken it any further without a built engine. Anyone ever 'found the limit' of a CDL I wonder?

LOL, that wasn't on stock internals.

It was  :happy2:

At the end it wasn't, but for a long time it was stock.  Was running lean to get over 500 bhp on the fuel setup it was running.

We are running his old turbo kit on another Golf R tuned by RTech and seeing dead on 500 bhp on a fully stock engine.  It made 540 bhp and 450 lbft on the base map before it was turned down.

That was some great reading over 5 mince pies and 2 cups of coffee.  Epic build and picked up some good info on the TTE420 that I was after

Ha, check out my guesswork! :happy2:

Got the car back yesterday buddy, she drives brilliantly and it's awesome to finally be able to make the most of the last round of modifications carried out by Alex at AKS.

Niki has as always done me a map that I can use on track as that's what the car is built for, off out to have a play in the cold air this morning!

Yes pal, I'm hoping for a quick blast out around Cadwell as they've got an ASBO friendly 105dB static noise limit. :happy2:

I am buddy, it's epic.

If we're talking stages then according to the R Tech website I think mine is probably a stage 3. Niki has mapped mine with track use in mind so hasn't gone totally balls out to avoid generating too much heat etc......
