Hi, new to VW, just got a 2009 Mk5. TDi. 2.0 How do I use the Bluetooth. Many thanks.
-
Depends what header unit you have and also it the blue tooth module is fitted

Hi, many thanks for your reply, I don't know what head unit I have or if there is a Bluetooth module fitted. I suspect there is no module fitted and I will most likely need a different head unit. How can I tell if the head unit Has Bluetooth fitted ? If I knew how to upload photos I could show one of the head unit.

What Andy said, some have no bluetooth, some have bluetooth in the unit (RNS315 for example) while others require an external module.
-
Hi Probedb. Can you tell me what Head unit has bluetooth ? Thank you.

the RNS315 has bluetooth built in or you could go down the route of RCD330.
the other option (if OEM is your thing) is getting an RNS510 and getting a bluetooth kit retrofitted (if you go for the 7p6 module this allows you to bluetooth stream your music too).
to see if you have bluetooth module already, you will see a foam module holder underneath the drivers seats and inside will be the module.

Happy with my 315. Got a factory fit mic, it also has DAB built in and sat nav.
