seen a video where the shop dap guys did an engine flush and reduced the oil consumption by over 50%
anyone else had good results with this?

Can't say I was losing oil before but I did it the first time I changed the oil on mine as it had no service history for about 30k miles.
I changed the oil and filter, replaced with an economy brand and ran that for about 250 miles before changing again with an Wynns engine flush and oil filter.
I then ran it for about 3k miles approx before changing oil and filter again and it runs sooo much better. I'll be doing another oil change by Xmas. Your decision at your own risk, but I do think you can do some harm if your engine is 'loose' as it will break down some bits literally keeping it together from a tolerance perspective. Some have had horrible results and I did this on a Renault Laguna DCi which then blew it's turbo about 250 miles later and after getting it replaced, it started to go again, In the end I sold the car for parts, losing about £2k in the process.
Apart from that, good results the other 8 or 9 times I flushed the engine, but only using Wynns.

I’d be very cautious about using an oil flush in a TFSI engine, because it could dislodge something that blocks the oil pickup.
My suggestion would be to do a couple of oil changes after very short intervals and from then on consider 6 monthly changes.

That was an early EA888 engine. EA113s don’t have that problem.

I put some liquid molly flush in the wife's peugeot 107 with no issue. Got rid of the milky gunk and some crusty peices in the oil pan. Worked great.
