So now that the nights are in and the weather is s**t i think i need to upgrade my bulbs. I have seen posts on the Osram night breaker but none on anything else. Sooooooo what other other options are there available??

I bought some http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=81 (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=81) Bought two sets, one for dips nd one for mains, and they are excellent.
great service by Pb's too, you get 10% discount by inputting AYSCX1729.

I paid something like £60 for mains, dipped, silvered indicators and got sidelights thrown in free. Next day delivery too!
-
I got the Osram nightbreakers from powerbulbs and Im very pleased. Upgraded the W5W sidelight bulbs with white ones too 8)

how about a xenon kit, have you looked on sites like hids4u and hids-direct. you can get kits for around £70 now :driver:

This is a subject which will get a lot of people animated due to legality of these kits, but I will try not to start that on here as well
All I will say is in IMHO I would stick with the upgraded bulbs like the Osram's or Phillips ones :happy2:

i have the xenon h7 ultimate kit from hids4u and all i can say is wow.. i know they are illegal with the strange law about having to have washer jets but aside from that they are very powerfull, main reason i got them as i work nights.

nobody has flashed me plus the police have not pulled me, maybe because ive kept the stock yellow sidelights
removed them within 5minutes for my m.o.t passed perfectly
also i left them in when was due in a service, even the vw technician commented on how bright they was 8)

Ok, all it is we have a prominent member on here who gets a bit upset when people post up these kits. especially if you mention that they may be legal you however never so you may escape with your torso.
there were many heated debates over these kits none of which ended with all parties feeling happy.
Pop yourself off to work and dont worry, I think he is trying a new approach on this site so we shall see how it goes. :chicken:

thanks steve.. i had a quick browse through and it looks like somebody was catching feelings over the hid kit from italy or something plus relevant legal advice is very helpfull :happy2:
they are illegal, full stop. they wouldnt pass an mot if i left them in mine i know that for sure.
i always drive with them on the lowest headlamp level so they dont blind people (duno if they do) but i do consider other road users
i guess ill have to make sure my next car does come with factory xenon as i couldnt bare the thought of going back to yellow lights.
topcat.. think i will pop myself off to work, i sense some feelings.. hope i have not upset anybody

everything is cool laser its all good info, i was only making light of the situation to stop it turning into an ugly thread with no winners. :drinking:

:signLOL: ive read a few posts on other forums about legality etc but everyone had conflicting views. luckily mines got them standard :happy2: i think a full standard setup would cost some serious £££ though
