Bit of a waste of time painting the hub as  I’m going to swap to aluminium hubs which I thought at the time wouldn’t work with the brakes.

Whilst doing this I removed the arch liner treated the rust spots with bilt hamber de oxit gel followed by por15. Painted hub and fitted new FAG wheel bearing.

I’m a long way behind on this thread with what I have done.
Not long after buying the car I. Had the abs light come on intermittently and then on all the time.
Check with vcds showed front left. Turned into a bit of a challenge new sensor followed by new wiring loom to sensor. Issue was break in factory loom somewhere behind the glovebox where the main loom connects to the loom to the wheel. Remade the connection from the loom to the  abs pump. Which cured it.

Sorted it by using OBDelelven, the long coding is easier to understand on there than VCDS  - literally an on/off menu!

Having issues on hot days with seat belt warning going off even with seat belt connected.

Must be a micro-switch in the buckle playing up? Just had a quick look on VCDS adaptions to disable it - Only options were variant 1 to Variant 4. It was on 2 changed it to 3 as 1 and 4 had an error message.

If that hasn't solved it I have seen some You Tube vids about changing the coding. Coding scares me , don't want to f##k it up.

Hey everyone (first post here),

I’m hoping someone can help me out here. I’ve got a 2007 Golf 5 Variant and I want to retrofit a Highline MFD, a MFSW, the wiper stalk with the MFD control button, and cruise control.

Right now, my instrument cluster has the VAG number 1K0 920 853 Q. Under the steering wheel module in VCDS, I found 1K0 953 549 BB (not 100% sure if that’s the correct one to look at).

From what I’ve gathered so far, I think I need a Highline cluster (not sure if it has to be 972, 973, etc.), and I’d have to code it with the correct PIN, mileage, and so on.

What I’m not sure about is the correct order to install everything. Like, when should I add the MFSW, the wiper stalk, and cruise control(Before or after if it even makes a difference)? Also, would I need a new steering control module to make the MFSW buttons work? Or could I just buy the buttons (like from AliExpress), fit them in, and code them somehow?

Sorry for all the questions — I’ve never done a retrofit like this before, so any help or guidance would be super appreciated! Bonus points if you can point me to which parts would actually work.

Thanks in advance!
