May I make a suggestion? In the classifieds section, with the photos, it'd be great if you can click back and forward between the images rather than close it down and click the next thumbnail. A small thing, but think it'd make the adverts look more professional and slick.

On the mention email notification, a link to take you straight to the thread would be nice :)

I get some overlaping text on Chrome (not tried other browsers).
If site uses HTML5 - I think it can be easily fixed using ellipsis.

@dazza (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10457) Just noticed when putting up an advert in the classifieds, I had the title (originally) as 18" Monza alloy wheels + tires but after posting it only gave the post the title of 18 which I've over written again manually.

UPDATE: 01/11/14 It's done it again, after modifying the advert to show it's sold.

@dazza (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10457) - Interesting one for you...

My avatar image didn't work (using Photobucket direct link), so I changed the original file name from "Avatar 2.jpg" to "Avatar02.jpg" and re-uploaded it to PB, since changing the file name to remove spaces the direct link now works as a forum avatar.

Spaces in urls should be replaced with %20. Don't think this happens automatically with sigs.
Title: Re: New Forum - Bugs And Issues Thread
Post by: th3_f15t on March 21, 2015, 08:46:34 am
The links came up with %20 for the spaces, but I'll go back to my old convention of using under scores. Just finished using a Unix system at work a few months back so used to not using spaces!

Don't know if anyone else has this problem or not but if I go to the "For Sale" tab, hover over the tab until the dropbox appears, click on car parts, the car parts section open (with pictures..works ok in the text link section), click any picture, the same ad by retro raz keeps coming up.

Could we also sort out Flickr and Imgur links working in adverts? Currently the direct links aren't recognised.

Also, when I click preview an advert, all my text disappears out of the main body field, yet the preview still shows but I can't then post it. If I click back in my browser the field is empty again. Happens if I try and modify the advert after posting too.

The problem is you can only place text in the main description box and you are putting images in there which is breaking it and it wont edit or preview. Add images in the image fields provided.

I've removed the images from the description and added the image url sereratly you should be able to edit it now.

Ah, I see what you did there, I'll give that a try in my other advert and see how I get on.

As for the idea about a redirect on Photobucket images, could you do a re-direct command similar to how PB are doing with everyone's images? So when it detects the image it re-directs to yet another image as requested?

I will probably write a script to copy them all to this server (once we move it and get more storage) then rename all the links bye bye photobucket  :fighting:.

Fair enough. I was thinking in HTTP terms but this forum is PHP which I've not learned yet. Still, hosting our own images sounds cool, but not for us forum whores who share across multiple forums I guess?

Least it means less storage used up on dedicated servers I guess...

it would just be an image link which you could use elsewhere.
