Title: So fresh so clean
Post by: Butler on November 11, 2016, 07:50:32 pm: Had this for 2 months now, was not really looking for this spec but the condition won me over and the seller was spot on....Always looking for stock cars that have been lovingly owned and this having only 30k and all the paperwork it made sense.....

Spec wise has the rns 510, 18 monza in original finish,cruise,leather,mfsw,dsg,winter pack.

Replaced both rear lights and just added some more layers of wax....future plans to detail the whole underside, wheels off and do all the brakes and suspension ready for next year...also a remap....nothing exciting just enjoying a really nice clean gti that is so much nicer than messing around with corrados and mk2`s that i have been doing the last few years...

On the rears just an all purpose cleaner followed by stain and water repellent spray

Had a play around with the spare wheel, flatted with 2000 then used school concept s2 on a medium pad to bring it back....

Bought 2 brand new wheels to replace 2 of mine that have very minor worming....can you believe that these wheels are £660 from the dealers..!!

Post by: Butler on May 11, 2018, 06:32:35 pm: Took the car to Stanford Hall on sunday, closest us Vw boys get to a concours event.... judges commented on the car being newer and hard to judge along side the mk1 and mk2 but commented on how well it was presented and scored it 129/140 and came second in my class loosing out by one point to a 26k mile mk2 golf gti which won best in show last year.... all in all i good showing for the mk5 gti..!!
