Hi
Looking for some advice / recommendations on 'Front Top Mounts' for my Jetta Sport 2.0 TDi….
Anyone recommend which make is better / longevity / price?
Any advice would be brilliant as I would prefer not to do the job twice! - Will also be fitting a set of H&R Lowering Springs at the same time <30mm
Many Thanks

i put oem ones back on when i did mine

Just for comparison VW top mounts are £31 each + vat and bearings are £16 each + vat.

I thought the top mount and bearing is one piece? No?

Do you think then go for VW ones? or OE? - Is there a lot of difference in quality / price?
Thanks Again

if you can afford VW (go TPS tho) then probably best to go with that, if not an OE quality part will still do the job good fine. see how your pockets feeling after recovering from xmas ;-P

Think my TPS will not sell to the public - do you think there is a lot of difference between TPS and VW in price?
:scared:

You want TT ones as they are heavier duty than GTI ones.
-
Are they the same fitment? & bearings the same?
What is the price difference?..... Any part numbers would be brilliant!
Thanks Again

Yep. It's just the rubber part that's different. A stiffer compound to suit the TT/S3's stiffer dampers.
Try searching for "TTRS/RS3 topmounts" as it's been discussed a million times.

Due to budget being a bit tight - 'if' I go with OE - What would be the best bet?! :scared:
SKF
Sachs
Lemforder
Bilstein
Febi
'Other'
Is it worth changing any of the bolts too?
Thanks Again :happy2:

Dealer ones in all honesty. You only want to do the job once :happy2:
As previously discussed, you'd be better off with the TT ones. MK5 ones are a bit squidgy!
You will need to replace the strut mount bolts x 6 and also the strut pinch bolts x 2. All of the chassis bolts (apart from the caliper carriers) are the use once variety unfortunately.

Thank you, Looks like I will have to go for genuine, don't wanna do the job again!
Anyone know the correct 'Part Numbers'?

AKS sell the complete kit - https://www.akstuning.co.uk/top-mounts/562-genuine-ttrs-top-mounts.html
When fitting new top mounts, remember there is a correct orientation to use. There should be a little nub on the rubber part that faces inboard or something. Google it as I can't remember......even though I've done them about 3 times now

The OEM ones have an arrow that should point to the front of the car if I remember correctly.

Yeah that's a good point, they do. They're really hard to see in the darkness of the wheel arch though, so maybe a bit of paint would be better!
