Depo headlights + led lights ERROR?
Last Poster: Levi in Mk5 General Area on Today at 08:22:00 pm
Hello like the title says i want to buy some depo projector headlights next month and i wanna be prepared. I was looking at the cheap ebay adapter for led + some Osram/Philips led lights. My question is, can i just code them to not show any light error on the dash or do i have to buy a canbus decoder?

Thank you.

Wahoo! Glad to see it's back on the road.

Really nice wheels, I'd consider those myself if I could decide on a colour. Looking forward to the inevitable K04 swap, looking to do that too soon :)

Re: What shall I do? New turbo, 2nd hand turbo or reconditioned turbo?
Last Poster: SANDEGTI in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:43:11 pm
Not sure what the cost of a new K03 is but probably a considerable amount. Personally I'd go for a second hand lower mileage K03 from a reputable seller.

Does the Oversized Ramair Intake require oiling?
Last Poster: SANDEGTI in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:40:10 pm
So I've been wanting to clean my air intake for a while now, it's way overdue and now it's sunny I'm wanting to do these jobs.

From what I remember the instructions didn't include re-oiling the filter after cleaning? But now I've seen videos on YouTube state that they need re-oiling, while others are saying not to do it at all.

Cheers guys. :drinking:

Just had mine through.  They sent me an email a few days ago explaining why prices are up, so was expecting an increase.  £293 now up to £410!

Re: K04 Conversion - Do you ever regret it? How is it for daily driving?
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:11:26 pm
I'#039ve definitely had a symptom where it felt like the car would accelerate, then ease off, then accelerate again but not sure if it'#039s my throttle body failing or if it was my broken turbo that underboosted by 0.4 bar and what I felt as a slight hesitation was just the N75 kicking in to compensate.

I haven'#039t felt anything like that on the K04. I'#039ll make a note to repl

Tackling my right-turn sticky clutch issue, where to start?

previous post from 2023 here: https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,133694.0.html

Have decided it'#039s time to tackle this b*stard, as the stickiness is getting worse and worse, even after slow right-turns it'#039s sticking now. Still no clutch slip though.

We confirmed in the previous post that it'#039s not crankwalk. A gearbox end-cap shim wasn'#039t the s

NQS BBK Question/Guidance.
Last Poster: WinnowTO in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 05:55:44 am
Hi all,

I was wondering if the NSQ BBK mod was achievable using 17z rear calipers from a Cayenne/Touareg/Q7. a pair of them managed to find their way into my possession and I'#039ve gone as far as seeing if they'#039ll bolt up to my current knuckle on my GTI (which they will).

Once I saw that they'#039ll bold up, I ran into an issue with them not lining up with where

Just because this is old and to post a couple of things I'#039m not sure are included in the previous pages;
They did upgrade the intake for the mk6 Golf R with the DV relocation...

.....and the Volant did result in low fuel trims, on average, when they had MK6 Golf R people report

Central locking failed on the passenger rear door so bought a new actuator for £20 and replaced it today. Pretty easy DIY.

Just to update I rang tps and they said the price for the timing belt was £212 plus Vat and then other £68 plus Vat for the waterpump  :surprised:

VW main dealer on ebay said they can do the whole kit for £250 Inc Vat.

Re: WTF!! Has my car been mapped?? :|
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on May 11, 2024, 12:06:31 am
With VCDS, look at boost specified, boost actual, intake air mass g/s and actual torque. You can use intake air mass and torque to estimate BHP. Take the car for a pull in 3rd gear from 3k to 5.5-6k and you should get a good enough reading. Or if you can do the same in 4th gear, it'#039s even better.

My cracked k03 turbo, on a stage 2 map, was underboosting by 0.3-0.4 bars

Re: Milltek vs Pipewerx
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on May 10, 2024, 10:04:52 pm
Yeah that's the one. Tho it's funny. The rest of the exhaust on the Jetta is stock while the downpipe is custom all the way back to under the rear seats where it's connected to the exhaust. On the golf the whole system is stock, minus the cat, which is a sports cat.

Re: Where would you go with £23k
Last Poster: pudding in Mk7 General Area on May 10, 2024, 05:50:28 pm
They are all good choices if you want to stay with VAG. nbsp The RS3 will have you at the Shell station quite often and you'#039ll have boy racers up your backside constantly nbsp  nbsp They go and sound amazing though.

I'#039m the same age and went from an Edition 30 to an F30 330d, mainly due to the massively increased mileage, but it'#039s proven to be a quick and fun car.

Edition 30 Rear Valance -Pearl Black (Genuine Part)
£80.00
Location: Manchester
Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

There are storage scratches on the paintwork so will need respraying. You will also need a towing eye cover.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.

    Hi all,

For sale is my 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 (DSG). I am the 2nd owner from new and have owned the car since November 2021. The car was near enough stock when I purchased it and I have upgraded it in my ownership.

    - Arm rest.

    - All rear control arms replaced (December 2023).
    - Geo By Luke fast road alignment (December 2023).
    - Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all around.

I've just spent circa £2.5k on the suspension components refresh.

I have spared no expense on ensuring the car is mechanically sound.

Being honest, the car could do with the wheels being refurbished. There is general wear and tear on the car which is expected for the age, the car is approaching 16 years old. There are some minor dents and scratches. The front end does have some stone chips. The inner sills have some slight blistering to the paint. The MFSW buttons work intermittently but I have bought the new control module but haven't had this fitted yet. The cruise control is also intermittent and I have purchased a new stalk, but haven't fitted this yet. Parts will be included in the sale, or if I have time, I will get them installed before sale.. Front and rear dash cams & pioneer double din are not included in the sale.

If you are looking for a well sorted car which mechanically has been looked after well, this is a good car to purchase.

I am in no rush to sell, only considering selling to upgrading. No part exchanges please.

The pictures are prior to the installation of the coilovers, I will upload new pictures once I have detailed the car.

I'm looking for £11,495.00, I paid just under this when I bought the car stock.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

    Kind regards,

    Sharif
