Title: Metallic pin found inside engine bay
Post by: akispap on April 18, 2018, 02:36:45 am
Hi guys
So as I was cleaning the engine bay the other day I found on top of the dsg gearbox  a pin that I had no idea where it fell from so I’m a little worried. Any help? Here is the pin

That looks like the ring pull for pulling off the wheel nut caps, with the hook bit missing....

Locking pin for the cam chain tensioner?

I would agree with the above and add to that its nothing to worry about as its a consumable item, although it's not meant to be left in the engine-bay.

A bit slack of them to drop it into the engine bay instead of the bin though!
