Installing this soon on my HPFP.
Any tips from anyone who has done this?

Yeah sweets and cover included :happy2: I went through Ovidiu directly as Ebay were being payment Nazis, so they lost out on their fees :grin:
Really great service and the bits look well engineered :smiley:
The fitment looks pretty easy and I love that Ovidiu includes new bolts and an pump O ring as well. He's a top man.

Ps is it a good idea to use the HPFP cover? He said he sent hardened bolts but don’t know if they’re actually longer to compensate for the cover...

Out of interest how much were they going for all in with postage?

£230. The internals are £199 but the postage is a bit steep. It's a 2 day DHL service, so reliable. I think he's had problems with cheaper couriers in the past.
The supplied bolts are the same length as the OEM ones. I'm not bothering with the cover thing as I'm using the OEM engine cover. I think those things are a bit ugly anyway. Just have to be careful around the sensor :happy2:
Just fitted the internals and it's very easy. I did it in the kitchen with a Black & Wrecker workmate. Took about 20 mins. The only thing you have to watch out for is the cavity of your deep 18mm socket. One of mine knocked the tappet off the spring as I screwed the internals back in because there wasn't enough clearance. I had to reassemble it and dig around for a better socket, which luckily I had!
My only concern is the VIS piston doesn't feel as smooth as the OEM one for the first few mm of its travel, feels a bit sticky, but it felt dead smooth out of the pump. Slightly apprehensive about that but we'll see what happens when I put it back in the engine I guess! I've heard too many stories about these and Autotech internals being too easy to mess up during installation.

Stuck the assembled pump back in and all is good. No nasty noises or fuel cuts :happy2:
I'm impressed! The engine immediately felt stronger and smoother when the turbo spooled up. I always had a flat spot in the midrange over winter with the standard pump, which I suspected was a fuel shortfall. It seems that was indeed the case. As a guess, it feels like there's a good 20-30 lbft more at 3000rpm and the flatty has gone :smiley:
Really good value compared to the expensive preassembled pumps out there, and piss easy to fit. Win win!

Btw you may end up leaning off the fuel setting on the Revo SPS now that you have more fuel going in. Look out for a puff of smoke in the rear view mirror when the turbo is boosting hard.

Haven't seen any smoke yet but it's too dark to see it on the way to and from work anyway! Performance settings are back in and it feels way stronger than before, so that's a good sign :happy2:

Done and done! Finally!
That frigging fuel line clip took the piss but other than that quite easy.
Cam follower changed too but old one literally no marks on it at all, replaced last service about 5k miles ago.
Next up s3 intercooler and a service. She just hit 90k miles.
