Re: 62% insurance increase anyone?

I was previously with tesco and paid £210 last year. It went up to £300 so I left them. I was able to a my classic 911 policy making it multi-car and it only cost £30. No idea how insurance company’s work but wasn’t complaining with this option.

Car is running 1.54-1.58 bar (actual) at WOT and the specified is 1.55 max. It'#039s surging till 4.2k or so and then quiets down. For now it'#039s a stock cooler but I'#039ll be picking up an S3 cooler cause I can feel it losing power.
I'#039d have to check, not sure. It'#039s surging all the way from 3k to 4.2 or so in 4th gear and above. In 5th, it'#039s surging from even lower rpm.

With VCDS, look at boost specified, boost actual, intake air mass g/s and actual torque. You can use intake air mass and torque to estimate BHP. Take the car for a pull in 3rd gear from 3k to 5.5-6k and you should get a good enough reading. Or if you can do the same in 4th gear, it'#039s even better.
My cracked k03 turbo, on a stage 2 map, was underboosting by 0.3-0.4 bars

Yeah that's the one. Tho it's funny. The rest of the exhaust on the Jetta is stock while the downpipe is custom all the way back to under the rear seats where it's connected to the exhaust. On the golf the whole system is stock, minus the cat, which is a sports cat.

They are all good choices if you want to stay with VAG. nbsp The RS3 will have you at the Shell station quite often and you'#039ll have boy racers up your backside constantly nbsp nbsp They go and sound amazing though. I'#039m the same age and went from an Edition 30 to an F30 330d, mainly due to the massively increased mileage, but it'#039s proven to be a quick and fun car. <

Replacement Mk5 GTI rear passenger door
Last Poster: g7jhp in Mk5 General Area on May 10, 2024, 03:15:38 pm
Hi All, The other half managed to put a hole in the passenger side door, so I need to find a replacement door rear passenger door ideally in The same grey.
The cars a 2008 Golf GTI Mk5, 5 door paint code LA7T.
Do all Mk5 doors fit?
Should I just be able to move the hardware over?

I also have the p0299 code. Ive just noticed that i have the hairline crack on the turbo, exhaust side too. Still boost well the car and theres no strange whistles. The problem with my car is that its also leaking oil badly and im still not sure where its coming from. Is yours leaking oil too?
Re: Bad oil leak and now low oil pressure
Last Poster: OllieVRS in Mk5 General Area on May 07, 2024, 08:49:23 pm
Ironically you can get low oil pressure from over filling the oil. But I suspect it'#039s something more serious in your case that must be investigated ASAP.
Doing what ZoliWorks said is a good start. Places on the right side of the engine to check out are the oil filter housing, cam chain housing and oil cooler. The valve cover gasket can leak too but not enough to cause l

So with the cage in we can say that now it's a proper tracktool, isn't it? haha
Love it and all the build, maybe I should had followed this pad with mine some time ago instead of a OEM restoration...

Sold 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 - Steel Grey - 5 Door - Stage 2+ (DSG) £10995.00 Location: West London Collection Only
Hi all,
For sale is my 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 (DSG). I am the 2nd owner from new and have owned the car since November 2021. The car was near enough stock when I purchased it and I have upgraded it in my ownership.
- 5 door. - DSG. - Steel Grey. - 76,000 miles (will rise as still in use). - FSH - last serviced December 2023. - MOT - Expires 7th March 2025. - Xenons. - Heated seats. - Highline MFD. - Arm rest. - MFSW. - RNS510. - Folding mirrors (heated). - Rear parking sensors.
In my ownership I have had the following maintenence completed:
- Serviced 3 times (2 full services, one oil and filter change). - Cambelt and waterpump. - Thermostat replaced. - DSG service. - Genuine cam chain and tensioner. - Genuine cam follower changed at every service. - Genuine oil pick up pipe. - Rocker cover gasket. - Genuine PCV. - Genuine Diverter valve. - Subframe spacer kit. - Brake vacuum gasket. - Varta E44 heavy duty battery. - New rear wiper switch. - New folding mirror switch.
Upgrades/modifications are as follows:

I've just spent circa £2.5k on the suspension components refresh.
I have spared no expense on ensuring the car is mechanically sound.
Being honest, the car could do with the wheels being refurbished. There is general wear and tear on the car which is expected for the age, the car is approaching 16 years old. There are some minor dents and scratches. The front end does have some stone chips. The inner sills have some slight blistering to the paint. The MFSW buttons work intermittently but I have bought the new control module but haven't had this fitted yet. The cruise control is also intermittent and I have purchased a new stalk, but haven't fitted this yet. Parts will be included in the sale, or if I have time, I will get them installed before sale.. Front and rear dash cams & pioneer double din are not included in the sale.
If you are looking for a well sorted car which mechanically has been looked after well, this is a good car to purchase.
I am in no rush to sell, only considering selling to upgrading. No part exchanges please.
The pictures are prior to the installation of the coilovers, I will upload new pictures once I have detailed the car.
I'm looking for £11,495.00, I paid just under this when I bought the car stock.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
Kind regards,
Sharif
2 x Mk5 Gtis being broken, West Midlands £0.00 Location: Walsall, West Midlands Postage: £0.00 Delivery or Collection
I have, in annoying and frustrating circumstances, ended up with 2 Black Gtis that are both dead on my drive, both for engine reasons, so I couldnt even get away with making a good one out of the two, and have had to replace them both with an R32!
I will start pulling them apart and will list stuff separately as I have the chance, however, due to lots of stuff that is going on at the minute, that may take me ages, so I thought a general post about both being broken may be helpful for anyone who is after specific bits etc.
One is an 05 5 door, block and head are totally scrap. Was in daily use until a couple of months back when the engine lunched itself. Pretty much all standard. Of note off the top of my head has: - Heated Leathers in decent condition - Standard Grey Leather Gti Steering wheel - 17" Monzas with decent Tyres - Midline Clocks - Generally things are pretty tidy, so anyone who needs standard bits like engine cover, trim, light covers etc etc etc, they might be of use to you.
One is an 06 3 door, with a few more tasty bits and pieces on, but that has been sat for longer. Again, engine itself is lunched. Again, from the top of my head there is:
- Heated Cloth interior in not bad condition - Black MFSW - Cat Back Stainless, although the cat itself was getting borderline on MOT passes, so maybe just the backbox of use - 18" Monzas - Neuspeed Intake - Twintercooler Setup - Reversing sensor setup rear bumper etc - Highline clocks
There will be other decent bits on both - As I say, I am working a bit off memory at the minute.
I just need the cars gone, so once I get started, really I just need it all out the way, so not especially bothered about getting top dollar for bits, I just need the space back, but know that the bits on them both are too good to let go for scrap.
I am based just outside Walsall in the West Midlands, but work in Cardiff, so go there most weeks, and am happy to take stuff there (or meet people in between).
Shout if any questions, and as I actually get stuff off I will get pictures up, but if people want me to get pictures of anything specific, let me know and I can do. I am actually listing this right now when I am away from home with work for a few days, as thats the only way I actually get time to, but feel free to send me questions etc and Ill answer best I can, then send pics when I get back.
I dont love posting car bits out - There is too much room for stuff to get damaged, go missing etc - I would much rather collections, or meet you somewhere etc in an ideal world, but it can possibly be arranged on some stuff.
