Title: VW Leeds: avoid!
Post by: Garth on January 04, 2010, 02:53:13 pm
I had my car there for service, which they did incorrectly, full details are here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10108.0 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10108.0)
and they damaged my alloy wheel and are refusing responsibility. Another unhappy customer for them  :congrats:

My car was booked in for its cambelt work at VW Leeds.

Took it on the morning and left if with them, got a phone call at work to say they ordered the wrong parts and I would need to bring it back the next day.

Picked up my car to find all the dirty trim parts they had removed were just dumped in my boot.

Then to top it all off, once they had done the work they forgot to stamp my service book

Someone on here really recommends the part team.  But I found them to be  too.

Can't recommend Bradford parts enough.  Thinking of booking car in there for service too £99 for full service and MOT!!!!

I was going to try these for my next service as i work in Leeds, but after your review i don't think i will. Keep away from Halifax Volkswagen as well, as they wanted to replace the whole rear wash wipe for around £170 quid after the little jet that sprays the water broke off. I fixed it by buying the jet sprayer from another dealer for a fiver. Then they wonder why everyone calls them stealers.

i know i might sound hypocritical here cos i've sl@ged them off before, but i took my car in today for annual service doing and they where excellent :happy2: i needed all new wiper blades which they changed FOC. They quoted me £155 and the total amount was actually £152 :drinking: they cleaned the car and made a good job of it for the first time. Did my pressure test cos my car is losing abit of coolant, no charge and they told me there is a slight lose of pressure nothing to be worried over. To be honest its hard to find a decent garage these days even the indy's are getting expensive

Speak with Gavin Gilbert if you can.

He was very helpful.

If you're in Leeds/Halifax, Matt at the Racing Line is a top chap, his main bag is Mitsubishi stuff, but he also sells revo/VW stuff. Definitely worth a phone call.
