H & R Lowering Springs
Last Poster: ahsan82 in Mk5 General Area on Today at 10:21:14 am
hi guys, does anyone know the part number for lowering springs for a 2005 gti DSG

Ive found 2 different part numbers, but unsure which ones fit.

HR-29176-1 listed as gti
HR-29261-2 listed as mk5 golf, but based on axle weight from 1021kg

Also, will springs from an A3 tfsi fit?

Thanks as always

Noisy release bearings can carry on for ages, but at some point will need replacing. nbsp Don'#039t hold the clutch down at traffic lights/junctions to minimise the heat going through it. nbsp Dry bearings can fall apart if they get too hot.

Worn out input shaft bearings usually only whir when the gearbox is hot. nbsp I wouldn'#039t worry about that if it is because they can make that

It could be the fans running full pelt on the drive super cooling the engine, likely to be one of the 2 coolant sensors.

With the Golf being new to you it may be difficult to know if the fans are operating correctly - mine was running the fans on cold start up.

With the current fuel prices it is worth fixing quickly, the ECU will think the engine is cold and w

Terminal 15 is ignition switch and/or fuses or relay. First thing I would be doing is check each fuse with a test meter on the end of the dash panel (drivers side) then check them around the battery too.

Looking for a new lower bumper for my mk5. Don't like the factory one very much so want an aftermarket.
Not really sure what website to look on. If you know of any sites that would be great. Thank you

Can'#039t say - but... I would have got one myself.
I have used Nissens stuff for years, happy with build quality - but for my Mk5 I ended up getting distracted by a Chinese clone of the Wagna intercooler.
Check out the members section,Shannon ob'#039s track car runs one, nbsp it is currently at TSR for tuning and is expected to make 380bhp.
Also consider the state of your AC

Got the reverse camera all installed now, makes a huge difference in my opinion as I’m used to having one to ensure safety when reversing. My driving is bad enough going forward never mind about the reverse gear.

Hmmmmm that finish looks terrible, one of the lads from work had one from them but for a mini he said it was mint. If it turns up looking like that I’ll be sending it back.

Mk6 is different design, the Mk5 outer panel comes off entirely and the door handle shapes are different.

Can you install the just the Mk6 centre console into a Mk5? Or does it need the whole dashboard to fit properly?

Sadly we’ve had a little bad luck with the golf at TSR for mapping.

Number 1 lambda sensor failure.

VVT not working properly either. They’ve said it could be a few things but have had to put together a quote with multiple solutions to get a “worst case” idea of pricing.

Could be quite simple as there being a bit of silicone or some other debris j

Hi guys,

I changed the battery because the old one was weak. Sometimes, in the morning, i had to insist to start the engine and i had some defaults on the VCDS because of that.

I ordred a black GTI trim for the steering wheel. I am waiting

A neighbour has advised me that I should also change out the main bearings while I'#039m in there, as new connecting rod bearings will somehow negatively affect main bearings? Is this true?

Even if it is true, is it possible to change the main bearings on this engine without removing the crankshaft?

I'#039m not too concerned with oil pressure anymore ever since I re

Standard 3 door GTI in shadow blue

      Collection Only

Hi all, Seeing if anyone is interested in my 3 door shadow blue GTI. It is a nice example of a standard car with no rust. I am not in any need to sell however it seems a shame as it has mostly been in storage this year due to other projects so I would let it go to another enthusiast. Details as follows:

Four Michelin PS4’s fitted on 6th January 2021. Full service carried out on 4th January 2021 including genuine VW cambelt and water pump, oil was replaced with Millers Nanodrive CfS 5w-40 NT+. Both rear brake calipers have been replaced with TRW OEM calipers. PCV and DV have been changed (GFB+ DV fitted). Currently on a private plate and this is not included. Lots of receipts and history with the car and fully stamped service book present. Fitted with full leather including armrest, and RNS510 with Bluetooth phone connection. I have just had the front arch liners out and all wheels off for a clean and seal ready for winter. 99k miles, manual.  £5750. Kent.
