As you know we have moved to a more reasonably priced server.

I have setup this PayPal pool. Don't go crazy  :rolleye:  I think the hosting will cost 20 to 25 a month but maybe less.

I would also like to add an anti spam subscription which will cost 8 a year. DONE

Re: MAPCO - RIDEX.... car parts
Last Poster: chigmuss in Mk5 General Area on Today at 09:07:05 pm
No specific experience of MAPCO but I extensively used Febi Bilstein when replacing (almost) everything under the Ed30. Prices are similar to the 2 brands mentioned. I used Autodoc but I'#039d be cautious now with the VAT hit you seem to get with anything coming from Europe. I believe if you keep it under £35 or so you'#039re ok. Also, Autodoc were a bit sluggish on some deliveries, sour

Rtech are miles away and they seem to be the go to guys. There are probably closer companies tbf.

Mine drives well, quick too. But more noise would do me.

Aircon issues 2007 GTi
Last Poster: flyingf15h in Mk5 General Area on Today at 05:36:40 pm
Hi,
I’ve tried to read up on the potential fox for the issue and there seem contrasting views or I’m misinterpreting things.
The aircon on the golf does not work, a leak on the condenser was diagnosed and has been replaced, vacuum test seemed ok but the fans will not rotate. I’m going to plug the car in on Saturday but wondered if a fault would show in VCDS or it could be

Car stalls sometimes
Last Poster: Gti_petrolhead in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 11:53:02 pm
Hi guys i got a dsg mk5 gti. My car stalls when i slow down and stop from high revs. For an example if i slow down and stop from 4-6k+ rpm my car will stall. But if i take it easy and slow down slowly it doesnt stall? What could be the issue? Throttle body?

A loose top mount nut is more of a intermittent rattling noise, plus it is very directional - it will sound like its coming from the bottom of the windscreen.

Loose ARB drop links create a range of noises rattles to metallic clangs.
Depending on their design, they can be problematic to tighten, diagnosis tricky with one wheel off the ground, it will hide being loose

Just get the tool. So much easier than trying to wrestle with them or mess about with other methods.

I would guess if it drives ok with no problems and no management light on then leave it alone.
I’ve had funny codes like this stored in other cars before and not been able to clear them with no side effects.

Thanks for the reply. Agreed this is probably the best thing

What kind of rebuild, does the engine start and run?
First place I’d start if it does is clear all codes and start fresh to see what comes back on.

Re: Spark Plugs

NGK (1675) PFR7S8EG are the current OE plug, but they are platinum center core_have a 1mm center core_and have a 0.031"quot(0.8mm) gap. They work fine.

NGK (2667) BKR7EIX are highly used; they are Iridium center core and platinum coated ground electrodes_have a 0.6mm center core_and also have a 0.031"quot (0.8mm) gap. They may last longer than the platinum center electrodes.

At the time I had no choice but to pay the steelers. My nsf door wouldn't open from the I side or outside so I couldn't get to the bolts to take the door skin off. When the drivers side started failing I replaced it myself before it was too late and for a total cost of around £40.

Also do you guys do boost leak tests. Out of no where today the car lost about 20-30% boost. Checked requested and actual and it'#039s out by about 10-15% Checked all pips and couldn'#039t sp
