Title: Coolant leak, hard line needs replacing?
Post by: Bumsecs on June 14, 2018, 07:12:53 pm
Hi there, a new member and recent GTI owner.

Annoyingly the newer I've gone with cars, the more issues I've had with them!

I'm a Volvo guy at heart but needed a stop-gap whilst my T5 has some issues resolved, so this black GTI came up locally. Really tidy inside and out, also came with the 18" BBS wheels which was a nice surprise.

Everything was fine until a couple of weeks in when I noticed it leaving on the ground from around the gearbox, turned out the vacuum pump was pissing oil out of a seal. Sorted that with a rebuild kit and now it's leaking coolant from just below, looks to be a plastic hard line with a couple of other hoses going to and from.

I'm guessing the plastic has gone brittle and split around where the hose sits on it, can we obtain this whole plastic unit?

Thanks in advance,
Ben.

I'm not familiar with the exact part you mention but You should be able to get the part from a VW Dealer, or TPS if you want a brand new OEM one.

You could also try Eurocarparts, failing the one from a scrap car
