Guys,
Other than oempl.us, is there another reliable OEM source for these, ebay.xx excluded? Preferably UK would be ideal please.
For some reason I was going to be charged $108.00 carriage from the States for an item smaller than my black VW front badge, which was only $15.00 or so P&P I think?
Thanks,
Pete.
-
Have you tried to price them buying direct from VW? :happy2:
-
Won't they be about £400?
I haven't though admittedly Ollie. I'll need to note down the reg plate of an R32/Passat otherwise Parts won't know WTF I'm on about.
-
Not sure on price to be honest mate.
Part numbers, saves waiting for the parts bloke to dribble over the keyboard.

Thanks bud, handy as :congrats:
What's the 'drivers door'? I only want & require the headlamp switch atm. Hopefully will be this side of £20.

I only assumed that because the heated mirror logo is placed more to the left compared to my logo that's right in front of the knob, that there would be a hidden logo behind the knob for the folding function:

The 5K4959857XSK p/n for the drivers door window swtches are for the 5 dr model. I know you can disassemble the switch to fit the 3 dr but surely the correct 3 dr version must be cheaper. Anyone got a P/N?

Drivers door 4 door car is 5K4 959 857 XSH £31
Drivers door 2 door car is 5K3 959 857 A XSH £18, taken off the box that mine came in
They don't 2 door a Passat version, but the Golf VI version of the switches are the same
For info they don't door a fuel flap button for the Golf VI as the fuel flap is manual (cost cutting) before anyone asks

Reason I ask chaps is because i was stood at the Parts counter on Sat morning with the VW fella and he queried it via the reg plate of an R32. He knew what I wanted but the on screen image didn't seem to show the chrome section in which case it would just be he same as mine, so I'd rather check at over £40 a time knowing how unhelpful dealers can be
I think it must be the illustrations on the desk system they use, they're not in colour and they look like something off of woody the woodpecker sometimes.
Thanks.
-
As far as I know none of the Mk 5's have the chrome switches, it just certain models Golf 6's and certain model Passats.
-
^ Hmm well there we go then, glad you said Rob
Am I better off just noting a B6 or R36 Passat reg plate and using that for the DB query so I get the right one?
-
Can you not just give him the part numbers shown?
That was all I did with my dealer no reference to Reg number or VIN.

The drawings won't help as they are generic, and you are better off giving the reg of a Passat CC as they were all fitted with it after 2008
Oooo it looks like they do one without the front fog lights now so I'll be able to upgrade as well :happy2:
-
bought and fitted my H/Lights switch today, nice touch lights up different at night compared to the old one.

In what way, different colour?
Tried removing mine on the weekend and couldn't how did you manage to remove yours?

Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers.
Turn rotary grip of light switch to position off
Push in rotary grip of light switch -1- and turn it clockwise slightly -2-.
Hold grip in this position and pull light switch out of dash panel using grip -3-.

That does look different. (and alot better)
I dont think the mk5 one says auto does it, I think it has a symbol there instead?
:happy2:

I think you're right Keith.
-
yes the mark 5 one (well mine anyway) has a pic of a tunnel instead of the "auto" wording and all symbols illuminate red. I think it an improvement.
-
Yes it looks good, simple to fit as well which is a bonus
-
Ohh, i like the red and yellow. Not enough to pay £43 however.
-
5K0959855XSH £13 each

My standard one has the Auto word on it, but its all red lighting except the auto which is green when its turned the lights on
-
My goodness, £39 is serious money for 3 switches. I think ill do without!

i will take all mine back out when i sell the car (especially if it goes to a dealer), and will sell them on :happy2:
-
Does anyone here who has fitted the passat switches have a single spare normal VW one that they would like to sell please?
I fitted new doorcards earlier this week, and in doing so broke the pins on one of the switches, VW do them still, but want £20 for one, was hoping some kind soul here has a spare? :drinking:

Thats the plan for me as well an easily reversible mod and then sell the parts on.

Just about to get a set...just noticed something about day time running lights... I don't think I have that?
Will that make a difference?
-

There are multiple versions on the MKVI that give different options, although I can't see one for daytime running, there are different versions for cars fitted with auto headlights and standard headlights, also different versions depending if you have front and/or rear fog lights (at last)
-
I have xenons, with auto function, coming home function, front and back fogs...
-
3C8941431NXSH is the part you want
My mistake I see that 3C8941431AAXSH gives you day driving lights in addition which won't work on the MKV

Thats where i got stuck today along with the VW parts guy. As none of them say leaving home im unsure which one to order and as any electrical part cant be returned once fitted it could be an expensive trial and error process
-
The normal switch with front fogs on works fine  :happy2:
-
CAMELUK, Hi there, can you please give me the Part numbers for the window switches on a 3dr 2007 Ed30 (not sure if the latter makes any difference) :ashamed:
As you prob know I require 2 switches for the drivers door and 1 for the passenger door.
The black rubbery paint has started peeling on mine
Are they easy to fit? (shaun.....do you have another diagram?)
Thanks.

There are a few people on vortex using the rear only but haven't heard yet whether they have full function, Still waiting on replies. Will post up when and if I find out
