As I've been on here for a while I think it's about time I done a thread.
This is my much loved mk5 tdi ( money pit) I've owned the car for just over a year and over that period of time I've been saving up bit by bit to do a big transformation.
The cars a 1.9 tdi 160bhp.
All comments are welcome.
This is the car before all the hard work started:

I never took a lot of photos of it standard as I wasn't quite satisfied with the way it looked, but these are a few parts I've bought over the year to get the car to where it is now.

My first modification was to fit my xenon's which were supplied my omeydz. This job was a pain in the arse, but definitely worth it.

After a lot of waiting the car had final been done. All I need to do is fit my air suspension.
This is what the car looks like now..

There will be a load more updates to come. Haven't taken an awful lot of pictures of the car as it is atm.
Thanks for looking
-
looks excellent--still cant decide wether to change my front end..did you have to change the fog lights
-
.
-
ticked all the right boxes so far dude. Looks really good!
Did you have to chop a lot of plastic from the new bumper to make it fit?
Also you said its 160bhp, what was it as standard?
-
Thanks guys! Yeah I had to change my front fogs. I had to cut a fair bit off mate.
The car standard is 103bhp
-
I don't know what happened with my previous post.. it was just blank but when I went in to edit it, it had a full text body??
Anyway copied and pasted what I wrote
Nice dude.
You'll need a second compressor as the fill time with just one is horrible. So glad I went for 2! :drinking:
I presume it's been mapped for the 160bhp! I'd check the BHP on some other rollers and do some logging - because at 160bhp it would literally be pushing the turbo past safe limits. The PD105s got a piddly little turbo bless it and the injectors are petty small. At the limit of the stock injectors with the stock turbo you are right on the limit of the MAP sensor with about 1.3-1.4 bar of boost (18-19psi, it trips at 21) and could blow :ashamed: - This gives a realistic 145, maybe 150 on a push.
Andy - you know you want the GT front end it's the best Mk5 front end IMO.
Also be VERY careful with those rear bags - They have a tendancy to rub on the suspension arm and can go pop
Airlift brought out new double below rear bags - they're the ones I've gone for and they mount ABOVE the cup rather than in it.
Mine

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5674525-Help-Air-Lift-Xl-s-Slam-Series
I'd upgrade to those if I were you for safetys sake. This guy wants £100 - http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=505491 - They look in as new condition.
-
Thanks dude :happy2:
I didn't get the the map done, it was already done when I bought it. It is pretty quick tbf, but I thought that was a bit much for a 1.9.
The gt front is the best front in my opinion also.
Yeah I've been told that they rub.. I'm trying to sell both bags so I can buy the new double below performance rear and performance front.
Saw your car at editon on Sunday and I love it! Great job :) is yours also a tdi?
-
The Slam struts are fine honestly I give mine a fair amount of stick in the corners and it's perfectly fine.
Unless you are making a proper race car, for fast road driving it's good as I explained in PM.
Just buy those double below ones I linked to on Edition, it's really cheap. I'm sure if you offered him 80 quid he'd take it. Nah this one is a GTI, my old car was the diesel. :popcornsoda:
-
I just don't wanna cut my anti roll bar mate.
What did you link me to? That's confused me haha!
Ahhh I thought it was still your diesel.
-
Wtf? Something is wrong with this forum. Like seriously wrong.
I had to go BACK into my post (as in Edit) not make any changes and click save and the links appeared in the body of the post.
-
I know, it keeps playing up for me also!
-
Hey George!! Looking wicked!! :happy2:
-
Looks great ..like the xenons

nice up grade
-
Thanks.. Nice and simple option
-
but well worth it thou--look forward to the pics when you get them fitted :happy2:
-
Hopefully be fitting them beginning of October
-
:happy2: Yep they look tasty :innocent: !!
Remember for your daily wheels, no smaller then 17" wheels or they wont fit with biggg brakes!!!
-
I wouldn't go smaller than 17's
Do you need spacers for these to fit under standard wheels? I know I won't have a problem with them behind my roties
-
As far as Im aware, OEM 17" wheels need no spacers. Aftermarket wheels, just be careful of the ET / offset or spacers might be needed.
-
Oh sweet :) thanks dude
-
They'll be fine behind any OEM wheel.
You have the 55mm hubs I take it? If you have the FSIII calipers you'll need to change your hubs to fit these.
-
Yeah I had to buy the hubs as my airs 55mm struts. Bought those double bellow rears
-
Yeah man that's good. glad you got it, much less worry than bursting a bag!!
-
Crazy Transformation! In a Good Way! Good Work Dude!
-
Cheers dude

have you got a pic or can you hide it
-
I haven't mate, but I'll take one later and pm it. You can hide the wire but you can't hide the antenna as it has to be stuck on the window.
-
I'm contemplating buying these, what do you think?

I like them. Re-trim them or leave them as they are? Only thing i dont like is the quite low / flat bolsters
-
I was going to keep them as they're for now, then maybe get them re-trimmed at a later date.
-
After some prick hitting his door on my rear quarter I decided to get the whole left hand side painted so it's mint for show&glow.. Whilst it was in for paint I thought I'd get these little

Sorry about the sh*t photos, these were taken on my iPhone.
-
Smart!
-
Looks hard as nails!
-
That is seriously beautiful :notworthy:
Only thing I would change is the rear wiper. I find it cleans up the look of the car massively.
But nevertheless, this car is awesome :happy2:
-
Need some more photos.....
-
Thanks for the comments. Haha I do agree with the rear wiper, but I hate not being able to see when it rains.
I'll get some more pictures of the set up and brakes tomorrow :drinking:

I had to get used to that when I had my cabby, so it's not a problem for me :signLOL:
Have you tried Rain-X?
-
Looks great dude.
What were SiC's work like? I've heard mixed things. I would recommend turning off the ACTIVE thiingy (I forgot what it was called, if you have the paper guide book with the commands it's really easy) - The one where it will automatically adjust the ride height while you're moving. 3 other people I know (plus myself) have had their car dump itself while driving.
About your rear wiper you can put a durable glass sealant on. Rain X is not bad but not very durable, a couple of weeks. If you use G1 or Fly By 30 on a properly prepped window you'll get a good 6 months as a minimum duration, normally double that.
-
I haven't tried rain x dude..
Cheers jay
Sic done a great job mate.. I'd recommend them!
I'll give that rain x a go and if it works I'll get rid off the wiper.
The active thingy? Haha... When your car lowers on lock etc?
I don't want it failing as it'll much my wheels. Literally have no space and sits perfect
-
This looks great. :happy2:
Love the boot build. Perfectly understated!
-
Thanks mate

No. The active ride monitor actively adjusts the cars ride height dependent on the road. I believe it's every 5 seconds when stationary and every 45 seconds when moving. EG if you stop on some cambered road it would adjust automatically. It can glitch out when you're driving and dump the car.
Myself and 3 others have suffered from this in the past. I turned mine off after it screwed my wheel arch.
-
Oh sh*t! I'll have to look into that as i don't wan that happening
-
Few more pictures I took today

Stunning!!
-
Looks good mate, shame you can only get the wheels in 19" I'd love a set in a staggered fitment
-
Thanks
Yeah I wanted staggered but any wider and less et on the rear I'd had to do arch work. These sit perfect!
-
Just watch you don't do this

Happened to me today. £110 and another sensor is on the way.
-
Funny you say that , I've just broke my rear left!!
-
That's my rear left too.
I think the top of the sensor was being bent on a bracket so over time it's damaged it..
-
It's a pain in the arse to get hold of the old sensor and they're expensive!
-
Plush have them in stock I believe.
I've bought my replacement through Moore I'm just waiting for him to confirm to me when he'll have it, I think Wednesday he said.
It's bloody annoying, I might buy another at a later date as a spare.
-
Plush haven't got yet, apparently they're on order. Yeah I know it's a piss Take and expensive!
I was thinking about going switchspeed
-
No major update, just sold the roties and fitted the winters- serious tucking!

Ind-T for me all the way

100% agree with the above...

I've just sold my ind's but kind of regret it as they really suit the car.
Ind-t's look insane, but it's such a hard decision to make :ashamed:
-
I think anything Rotiform is overdone these days.
So is CCW to be honest.
I'd go for TNBs out of those however.
but it's your choice man, buy what wheels you like not what wheels other people like
-
I know but they make some ridiculous wheels dude
Yeah I will, but it's such a hard decision to make

Thanks for your kinds words man. I was going to buy ilevel but I've heard there's been a few faults with it. I'll end up buying it eventually. What wheels you got?

LMAO! So basically driving the Rangey your sitting ontop of your Golf.
-
Hi, could you post a link to where you got the American hole less GT front grill mate.
-
Yeah basically  on a flat surface the bonnets inline with my roof.
Here's the link http://pgperformance.com/oem-mk5-jetta-wolfsburg-front-grill.html
-
Back end looks well
-
Looks good!
The milteks always annoy me with how low they sit though.
-
They do sit low but you can still get all the way down
-
thanx for the grill link.
The checkout doesn't seem to like posting to uk. Did you have to phone them up?
Can you remember what to total cost was?
Did you have to pay customs tax on it?
Was it finished painted, so that it just needs fitting, take it that it had no number plate holes in it?
-
If you go on the American eBay and type in Wolfsburg front grille it should come up with it.
Yes I had to pay tax but only £35
Can't remember the full price but it wasn't cheap
It arrives gloss black ready to fit
No number plate holes as it's a us spec front grille
-
Just as an FYI I split my front grill (you can remove the front plate part leaving the frame and the grills itself) and had it smoothed and sprayed silver on my old car for £30. :popcornsoda:
Much cheaper and the same end result.
-
I am aware you can do that, but he simply asked for the link to where I bought mine.
-
I know
Just thought of the dollar that's all;)
-
Mine and deago's car After his new bcs system fitted (iphone camera quality)

Only snapped another sensor... E-levels a Great kit but so bloody expensive when things go wrong!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fa542%2Fgeorgeus1%2F9EBEB754-B514-4D76-8A0E-469A1B716D54_zps4ulhe8xl.jpg&hash=76c59eb81fab65f41283e5f5b58b3a3fb866778f)
-
Shame about the sensor
Unless you hit it then it's an odd place for it to snap make sure it's not at a weird angle. jack the car up on the rear and run it through the range of adjustments (from all down to fully up and check it's not bending or anything
They're £120 now and to buy-price isn't really much cheaper :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
-
There in places where they can't catch, it's ridiculous. They're so expensive!
-
I'm going to speak to Jamie about fabricating up some steel replacements. You can split the arm from the sensor but you can't buy the arm seperately - Bloody stupid.
That being said I glued mine back together with that stupidly hard bonding agent I forgot the name of. Didn't ride height calibration but no joy! :driver:
-
It's ridiculous. I'm contemplating going to switchspeed or v2..
-
Would be a big step backwards.
You'd be better off fitting some pressure gauges for a manual indication as a backup.
-
I don't think it's worth fitting the guages. E-level is good but it's not as good as you think.
-
My friend has V2 and we both prefer my e-level.
If you have a set of gauges it's exactly the same as a pressure based system. Ride height is far more accurate than pressure. no more reverse raking with your mates in the car! Only a suggestion anyway as a backup for a failed height sensor. :innocent:
-
Yeah the leveling is good. It tells you on the controller if there's any fault so that'll do.
Plus, guages look sh*t in the car.
-

I want my controller in there bro
-
Yeah the leveling is good. It tells you on the controller if there's any fault so that'll do.
Plus, guages look sh*t in the car.
Doesn't tell you ride height though that's the issue.
So if your height sensor breaks it just errors out you then have to visually level the car up which is a ballache. i left mine at a fixed height for over a week. good excuse for leak testing though lol.
I got my controller where the cup holders are (so where those paddles are), I never really use the cubby hole. But you could put the gauges in any little space really mate :)
Might put mine in the roof where the sunglasses holder is.
-
Yeah that's true. I would like it where the ashtray is but I want my controller there.
How much are the guages?
-
You'd need 2 of these
http://www.plushdirect.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=2_17_41&product_id=90
They are twin guages.
Wire it up so one does the front and one does the rear
-
I'll order them, cheers dude.

The never ending wait for your $5000 dollar steelies to turn up continues..... oh sh*t you were keeping it secret weren't you! Sorry!

You gunna get your arches pulled with those spec wheels? Would look pretty damn good imo.
-
I'm probably gonna go 215's instead of 225.
Ideally I want the arch sat between the tyre and wheel :pomppomp:
-
Yeah definitely more stretch will help that! It will look awesome man. I'm hoping to have the arch sat between the tyre and wheel when I'm on air! Will be keeping an eye on this!
-
Cheaper tyres as well
Yeah it's the best way to sit on the rear I think
What air kit you going for?
-
Cheaper tyres as well
Yeah it's the best way to sit on the rear I think
What air kit you going for?
Ah what tyres dude? With the corsa i ran Toyo px4, they aren't the cheapest but i think they stretched real nice.
Definitely! Autopilot V2 with performace airlift front struts, probably airlift double bellow rear kit but im not sure what rear shocks to use yet.
-
I've always had nankang, they stretch really well and are mid range.
I will hardly be using my new wheels apart from shows.
Ahh fair enough.
I've got double bellow rears on standard shocks and mine sits on the deck :star:
-
A few of my mates ran nankang, Might have to try them :happy2:
Cant wait to see them!
Ah fair enough dude, might keep standard shocks then :)
-
Neither can I man haha... Been waiting 13 weeks and they aren't fully built yet :fighting:
-
And there's me thinking you got your new wheels when I saw that pic on IG :signLOL:

Your wheels need to hurry up! :scared:
-
Tell me about it! Never dealt with such an ignorant company.
Coming in to 3 weeks late :sad1:
-
That's what happens when you deal with Rotiform (or was it Fifteen52 I can't remember) trolololol
-
Both sh*t to deal with! They make some of the best looking wheels, but couldn't give a f*ck shout the service in the uk.
Gonna look ridiculous when they arrive though (if they ever do)!
-
So this text just made my day  only been waiting 14 weeks for it but they're finally ready. Ahhh I really wanna show you guys!!! They look amazing

Looks so smart dude! :happy2: Nicely done. Bet your glad you finally de-wipered the beast
-
Took me long enough haha
Definitely worth the money though
-
Literally just took my wiper off this morning but i've used a rubber grommet. Going to get some electrical tape and tape over the back of it just to make it secure from people pushing it in.
Where'd you get your plug from, it looks so much better than mine!?
-
I got it from venom motorsport... Yeah where it's glass it blends in with the rest of the window. Cost £21.47 though so pretty expensive
-

Cheers mate! Definitely expensive but worth it. My grommet cost be like £2 or something from ebay so when i can finally afford the one from venom motorsports i'll swap it over!
-
Yeah they're worth it dude

Yeah I'm curious to what's inside as there will be cars that shouldn't be in there.
Fords, really? I thought it was dubs only?

Putting new wheels in the thread title and putting a picture of the boxes definitely does not count!

How many coats do you put on dude? Ahh man that sucks :sad1: come with someone else?
I was supposed to be going but got to drive back from Northampton next Friday to get an m.o.t as mine ran out today :scared:
-
I put 4 coats on mine which might be over done but better more than less :signLOL:my last mot I for got about it and was out by a month :grin:Was looking forward to u/d as well..
-
Did it prevent stone chips?
Haha yeah same!
Come any dude
-
it did prevent stone chips to a point but all depends on what the wheels are and the finish on them...Know my mate is going in is silver bora with some nice alloys on so keep a look out for that
-
Yeah :/ I may have to get a thicker sealant. Maybe auto finesse tough coat.
I will do :happy2:
-
What about carbon collective platinum wheels?
Coated mine in it took one of other day and sprayed it with shampoo/water and it wiped clean with a microfiber
-
Yeah that's stuff alright. I'll get it next time. Already had the poor boys kicking around from my ind's.
-
Looking forward to seeing this at UD, new wheels being kept until then?
-
I would use something better than Poorboys to be honest. It's not that good. It won't help with stonechips either.
You would need a ceramic/silica sealant to even hope to add any strength. Cquartz will add scratch resistance and even a normal wax such as collinite or fk1000p would last longer than poorboys
look forward to seeing them on mate ;)

Thanks man  believe I saw your car outside? But wasn't sure if it was yours or not.
Yeah it was in club area :) It's not in the best of shape at the moment, I aired out on some uneven ground and let handbrake off = some nice filler cracks in my arches :(
-
I love this car. It sits perfect.
I cannot wait till mines bagged!

Just had a read through your build thread George.. I didn't realise how standard it started out! You know my thoughts but great work man.
Got my players classic approval yesterday too :happy2:
-
Thanks dude
Yeah the car started out completely standard, but now feels worth the stress and all the hassle driving over the uk picking up parts.

The M25 is known for its perfectly flat surface isn't it?
Wouldn't take much - Tyres blow out all the time for no reason
-
Falkens and stretch is known that they have a happened off letting go under pressure, its happened to me and a few others, Personally I wouldnt run Falkens on stretched wheels for that reason.
Try n stay away from them mate
-
God knows why it happened, I think it was something to to with hitting a hole which just of damaged the tyre them later on went. I've never had a problem with falkens before on stretch. Just glad there was no damage!

Looks good!
You back on the rotiforms yet?
Hydro's cos he's pure gangster!! :happy2: wish he had said when we was at his car so coulda seen them working!
-
Thanks for the comment. Yeah you have no idea what a pain they're to clean.
Yeah chris is on hydros. It's lairy as f*ck!
No rick, the rotiforms are being shipped back to California next week so hopefully have them back for players
Classics.

They're getting picked up tomorrow so should be back with in 3 weeks :pomppomp:
Players classics is going to be killer!

Due to the air collapsing whilst driving yesterday I'm contemplating going back standard. This is just to gain interest. So if anyone's interested let me know.
-
Awesome car mate, good job :happy2:
-
Due to the air collapsing whilst driving yesterday I'm contemplating going back standard. This is just to gain interest. So if anyone's interested let me know.
That doesn't sound cool, what happened dude?
-
Driving alone and the air started pissing out then the car just smashed in to the floor. So annoyed!
-
hello George for to see you might be splitting the car :sad1:Might be interested in the front bumper possible xenon lights if you go down that route
-
I'll be in contact mate. It's not really the route I want to go down but hope the issue is solved monday free of charge. No air
Kit should dump whilst driving.
-
I could be potentially interested in the bags and struts etc but not the management if thats what it does to you!
-
Was it the management system or was it a fault with a valve/bag/airline?
-
The management is fine. Its just started hissing out air so it's either a valve or something's come loose/leaks.
-
Gutted for you mate hope there wasn't too much damage to the car when it happened :surprised:
Hopefully an easy simple fix and you'll be back on the road soon :happy2:
Dave
-
There's a bit of damage to the car Dave, annoying as everything which is damaged has just been painted.
Fingers crossed it's something small and nothing major
-
Bit dramatic, one issue and then want to sell the whole car! :sad1:
Fix it and then go from there.. there can be issues... mine dumped itself from one corner. management took a crap on me. so i turned off the feature ease
Is it hissing the whole time or only sometimes? could have been the e-level ride monitor doing it's usual crap.
probably leaking from the air line off the strut man just sort it out and then re-consider...
-
I've just spent a fortune getting my archers to sit perfect on my rotiforms now they're all dented,
Votex is all scuffed up, miltek is dented to f*ck and something's come loose underneath the car.
It only starting hissing when it dumped the whole car but when I turnt the ignition off took
the key out the compressor is still rawing away. I've had to disconnect my battery incase the compressor sets a light. Car goes back to studio in car today so hopefully the find and solve the problem. Hoping it's not the management as my e-level controller wouldn't work either.
-
So sorry to hear this man. Chin up and hopefully it's a simple fix and repairs dont set u back too much.
Been doing exams so only just seen this. Very best of luck getting it sorted bro.
-
Thanks man
I'm hoping it something cheap as I'm not spending ridiculous money getting it sorted.
Gonna cost me a lot to put the wings etc back to how they were.
-

two new genuine wings painted will be like £400
Votex well yeah that's a bum and exhaust can be made for like £90 at a local exhaust centre
i had a stuck relay on mine which caused one compressor to keep going, the other was off. i hit it with a spanner gently and it's been good as gold since.
if your e level is not working then that's probably an issue.
like i said man it's a bit of an over reaction as said the overall cost of repair when you factory in what you have spent on the car is very little. :happy2:
-
Know you must be feeling disheartened George but stick with it mate will be worth it when she's back to good as new
-
This will be the fourth time I get my wings re done - that's £1,600 and it may sound like an over reaction but it's becoming money after money. I know it's minor due to the amount of money I've spent on the car but it's money that I don't want to be spending.
Just hoping studio in car can sort the problem.
It's just problem after problem.
Maybe when my rotiforms are back from Cali and back on the love will come back
-
To be fair bud if you go for that arch on wheel lip look unfortunately if you have an issue that's going to be what costs money
as much as i want to do that whole look practically it's not worth the hassle and always just incase you DO have an issue with the air ride you're going to just damage the subframe/exhaust etc rather than the wings and bodywork well :sad1: :sad1:
-
Yeah I know, but I had the Monzas on which tuck loads so couldn't understand it.
The cars in today so I'll keep you posted on the issue
-
According to studio they can't find an issue with it, all they said it could be is the management but any accuair people on here know how expensive it is so want to know 100% before I make a decision
-
I see the poWlice stopped you, what was that about?!
-
Yeah wankers. Pulled me for wearing my seatbelt under my arm instead of over my shoulder. £60 fine! Am I f*ck paying that!
-

Sounds umm... comfy! :signLOL:
You penis! How's it going with studio?
-
The cars back now, they reckon it was the management so that needs replacing. The car is now working fine so I don't understand how it could be the management. I want a definite answer as the e-level management is serious money!
-
Such a shame to hear about what happened, your car was looking so good.
Are you not covered by any form of warranty for the parts?
-
Thanks mate; the cars now staying.
No it's not covered unfortunately. I've been in contact with accuair so just waiting for a reply.
-

As I have said before if you have ride monitor enabled it can does occasionally throw a wobbly and dump one corner or multiple corners of the car.
It happened to me, a guy called Hamidi and also a guy called Olly we all run E-level.
It's not a fault with the management as such it's just the inputs it gets are intepreted in the wrong way.
Do another system calibration or even better turn off the Ride Monitor/active ride aspect of the system which is what I did about 8 months ago and I've had no issues.
-
Out of interest, whereabouts did you pick up your rear boot lid spoiler??
I've seen a many on eBay etc. but dont trust the build quality or outcome -
i.e I dont want that gap between boot and spoiler, want it close to r32 as possible
Cheer!

Yeah I'm not buying another management and the cars seems fine now. I'll do what you suggested.

My spoiler is a genuine r32 one. I found some guy selling it on ebay which he look off his golf due to being written off. They're hard to come across but worth every penny
-
Update on the suspension - the accuair manifold is broken so the golf is basically dead!
The manifolds are ridiculous money so need to think of an alternative route as the car can't move
-
Didn't you buy it new?
Would be under warranty.
They come up second hand on Edition.
-
Send a nice email to accuair.
Airlift have replaced my manifold & controller out of warranty :)
-
The kit is out of warranty - I've also emailed accuair and they couldn't give a sh*t. Don't really wanna buy a second hand one due to too many pricks that re willing to sell something which is broken.
-
The manifold is a fairly quick and easy swap over can you not force the car up somehow? or is it parked all down...
Accuair didn't reply to my e-mail about a broken sensor at all.
It's not hideously expensive all things considered.

-
I can't get the car up at all, once the air builds up to compression it then dumps everything out of it.
Im not sure if it's just the manifold
-
y don't u take the manifold off and carefully strip apart as it will only b a seal or valve letting go under pressure
-
Hope this gets fixed easy and soon so you can get back to enjoying the car. Sorry your having all these air troubles bro :(
-

Either ECU or the manifold.
Money would be on the manifold unless the touchpad is lighting up strange.
-
Touchpad is lighting up strange - just gonna go for v2
-
Touchpad is lighting up strange - just gonna go for v2
how much that gona cost u George
-
Around £1,300 if I have to get new accuair management but will probably go v2
-
A new manifold is about £500, and ECU is around £200. So it would be cheaper to replace the parts on the E-level things?
It may only just be one part (eg the ECU) so I would maybe change the ECU first and see how that works out... or find a friend who has E-Level and try their touchpad and ECU (easy to change)
-
The only reason why I want to change the whole kit is because if it f*cks up whilst my rotiforms are on it'll ruin them. Bye bye 4 grand. The only way I'm gonna know is to change everything so may as well get v2
-
Just put springs on.... fit... forget.... :innocent:
-
No chance
-
Just pull your finger out and have it done by players
-
I've got thousands to spend so get it sorted for then
-
Crack on then playa
-
I'm gonna have to sell myself just to pay for it haha
-
Email airlift and say your manifold and controller is faulty. They will send one out no questions asked!
:P
But that would be very naughty so don't do that.

Hype!

I don't quite see how personally - just as likely that you may have a faulty part within the V2 stuff.
It's a step backwards especially with the cost you have to get! Test the ECU from a friends car and if that makes no difference then it's going to be the manifold, either way it's going to be far less than a whole new management system??
Just seems a bit of a weird decision to me but at end of day it's your car and decision :)
-
I can get v2 at cost price so it's going to cost me less then buying the accuair stuff.
To be fair to v2 it's highly underestimated. They've never once had a kit that dumps out on them (as you know)
If that dumped out on my rotiforms I would go mad, just can't afford to take the risk. Also, I don't have anyone here with accuair to try their manifold/ecu
-
Update time :
Accuair has gone and I'm now running full v2 (for now)
Due to the air suspension failing it cause me a lot damages to my car, wings, bumpers etc
I had the whole front end re sprayed, front wings slightly widened to tuck my roitiforms, roof sprayed and bootlid. The car has now had a full respray and is looking spot on.
Few pictures of the progress - Tuk customs done all the work and his standard is another level, highly recommend if anyone needs paint or air :happy2:

Would look so much better if rear wheels fitted and you could afford tyres that fitted.
Otherwise is okay.
-
Thanks for the Comment rick. As you can tell the car has been done on a budget and I couldn't afford decent tyres.
-
I don't understand why you would want air .. I must not corner well on a track.
When I spoke to Joe Blogs at Bilsten he said you have to run there suspension or your cars pretty much pointless
-
It handles dreadful, and the right quality is just appalling. I don't know why I didn't just go coilovers, you get the performance and get to ruin the underneath of your car on speed bumps
Yeah I've heard if you don't run them your car is pretty much pointless, may as well scrap it.

Cars now for sale, either with or without wheels
-
I saw on an FB group you'd advertised the car, any particular reason for sale? Any thoughts on whats next?
Either way its a superb looking car and I doubt it'll hang around very long!! GLWS
-
No reason at all really mate other than wanting a new project. If I could afford to keep it as well as another car I would but I've spent a lot of money so wouldn't want it just sat there.
I've been looking at audi s3 and ttrs so either one of them will be the next project.
Thanks man
-
Oh sounds good, I guess if you sell this one it'll give you a bit more money to kickstart the next project. Either an S3 or a TTRS would make great projects.
-
TTRS sounds like a real winner. The APR Stage 3+ kit (yes, costs £10K but) gives you around 600BHP, meaning you get Lamborghini power from a TT.
-
Yeah should get a fair bit of money back for it hopefully. Yeah ttrs would be perfect but hold there money well, s3 would be nice too but wasn't satisfied when I test drove one the other day, don't get me wrong it was fast bit already had test drove the tt and an rs3 so made it feel slow slow
-
GLWS man ! one of the nicest MK5's ive seen hopefully goes to a good owner and not broke!
-
Thanks for the kind words mate
Yeah id be gutted if it got broke
-
Best of luck with the sale bro!!! Cant wait to see whats next in the pipeline!!
-
Thanks bro.. I'll drop you a text when I know for definite.
-
Awesome car, saw it a UD! So clean!
-
