Hey there, interested in the headunit...am so desperate to get something other than an over priced RNS510 or 315! When you say plug and play, does it need a DAB or a GPS aerial too? My car I am pretty sure didn’t have nav from the factory, or does it just use the GPS from the phone?
-
So I’ve had a look at the halfrauds website and it looks like I don’t need a DAB or GPS aerial, but it says to connect the phone on a usb...does the headunit have a usb hidden or is that the separate thing you have listed? Sorry for all the questions , but the good news is it’s bumping up my post count!
-
@Clarky (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=102950) hi mate the headunit has a place for a usb cable to plug into on the back of it. You can either use any usb cable and find somewhere to route the cable to somewhere convenient on the dash or the other part I have listed can be used to give a more oem look.
-
Thanks for the reply, also you say Cambridgeshire....not trying to stalk you but I am just next to Stansted Airport...roughly how far are you from me?
-
@Clarkey (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=14798) nowhere near stansted mate that’s about hour and a half from me
-
Balls...roughly where? I’ll see if I can combine it with something....
-
Near to Peterborough

Headunit arrived today very safely wrapped up and very quickly too! Massive thanks for the prompt delivery, as soon as I am back on my feet I’ll rip out the old and fit the new! To anyone else reading , the headunit is in perfect looking condition and a more helpful person you would struggle to find! Good luck with the other bits!

Nice one mate was a pleasure to do business with you it’s a shame not everyone here is as easy to deal with as you lol , I was surprised how quick the headunit got to you if I’m honest mate paid for 48 hours tracked and it got to you in 24 hours. Enjoy the stereo and wish you all the best for Monday :happy2:
-
Just a heads up for anyone interested in what iv got left I’ll be leaving them on here for a few more days then I’ll be advertising what’s left else where , at the mo this is the only place iv put the bits up for sale.
I’ll also be making a donation to the site from the money iv received from sales here.
This place is an absolute fountain of knowledge and still has some great members kicking around the place.
-
Very kind of you
That headliner repair panel thingy is very neat. Do you know if they make them in other colours? My TDI's headliner is sagging in exactly that area so that panel would sort it nicely.
-
@Pudding (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10733) hi mate yeh the headline repair thing is spot on just pricey for what it is there around £130 new but definitely less hassle than pulling out the whole headliner , they do all the different colours but it’s one of them items that doesn’t come up for sale very often and I couldn’t find a direct source for them from china even when I contacted the company direct I didn’t hear back from them.
If you go on Amazon and search ca sport headliner it will come up then you can check the shop to see/check when they have stock.
-
Mega, thanks a lot mate :happy2: I did buy a special can of headliner glue for vans (might be tougher than the stuff VW use) but that panel is a way nicer fix :happy2:
-
@pudding no problem mate it really does look oem when it’s fitted.
-
Items reviewed today with thanks. Can vouch for JB. Everything as described and very well packaged.
-
@jb55 is the ram air induction still available? Just wondering how many miles roughly you’ve done with it installed? Cheers! :driver:

@Jb55 (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=61858) Hi mate. Are you willing to do a deal on the set of lights? I'll collect both the front and rear if you'd sort something out.
PM me as I'm not on here much, but I'll be going into Cambridgeshire tomorrow afternoon so could collect asap.
Thanks

@Jb55. Thanks - unless it’s going for cheap I’m going to give it a miss. Since I’m keeping the car I’m probably better off putting the money into retrimming it instead.
