Title: SANTA POD 2010 - Forum Times Database
Post by: Poppa Dom on January 24, 2010, 08:18:23 pm
Hi all,
Whilst chatting to Jonny today I had the idea of keeping a database of peoples POD times this year by way of a shared google spreadsheet. It would be great if all those that went to the pod today, and on future occasions could update their entry onto the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet captures information about the car at the time of the run and the important parts of the time slip. PLEASE SUPPORT THE DATABASE, it could built up an interesting set of data for us all.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AroGc2BKtQdrdHhidVJFWGxjd0RfUm1TUklyVENxZ3c&hl=en_GB (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AroGc2BKtQdrdHhidVJFWGxjd0RfUm1TUklyVENxZ3c&hl=en_GB)

The spreadsheet itself is self-explanatory - 2 sheets, one of which is the instructions, which are repeated below.:

1. Only 1 entry per forum member/vehicle. The idea of the database is to keep track of best times. Note that if you change turbo you can have an entry for both
2. Only edit your own 'row' - no-one elses
3. Post should be made based on your fastest 1/4 ET - all information should be from that time sheet
4. Speadsheet relates to times at Santa Pod only - do not post times from York etc.....
5. Do not go editing the spreadsheet headings, adding new columns unless permission sought from DOMT - such changes will be removed.
6. Modifications/remap/turbo data should represent the configuration of the car on the run that is recorded.

If anyone has got any ideas on changes/additions before this gets underway let me know and I will get the spreadsheet updated so that it is in a format which everyone is happy with.

If worthy, perhaps one of the moderators could stuicky this for everyone?

Ha ha  :signLOL: Cheers Red..  It was @ Pod at least, even though 2009 was a faster year..

....

I've added my car's best with me driving and also mine with Jonny driving as it better demonstrates the car's true performance.

Of course you can Ben - just oen entry per car, best times stand.

....I've entered my car twice - One with Jonny driving but have stated the fact.

I'm thinking that there's three ways of looking at this database:

1 - To see who is the fastest driver.

2 - To see which is the fastest car.

3 - To see what variously spec'd cars achieve.

Btw, I think this database or thread with it should definitely be made a stickie or it will disappear out of sight.

Great idea, Dom :happy2: 8) :happy2:

Filled in my details, but haven't got a time for this year yet

....

@ Dom:

If it's one entry per car+driver, wouldn't it be acceptable for Hurdy to list his best time to date? The difficulty he might have is listing his mods at the time.

He'd then revise it if he does a faster time, so he remains with one entry.

Or is there a reason for restricting the database to 2010?

Robin,
Can't see anything wrong in using Santa Pod times from last year either. Perhaps its just the nomenclature of me putting up Pod 2010. Perhaps it should be named simply Best Santa Pod times to date. No reason for keeping specifically this year as we're recording the date of each run anyhow.

Hurdy's best time was at York though Red. Think his best at Pod is 13.4. But i'm sure he'll improve on that..

....Yep, it deffo needs to be restricted to the Pod or comparisons might get less meaningful and a bit like comparing dyno runs and we all know what that's like.

In which case I may change mine to my 2009 time as its faster lol..

Jonny - If you want to put one entry in for you for K04 based and then another for your current BT set up - go for it, that way people can see the comparisons as things develop too.

....Great idea. Comparisons are what it's all about. I suggest though that you restrict multiple entries to turbo's, otherwise you could get multiple entries for the same car but with minor different mods. Hope I make sense.
