Any good places to get wheel alignment done in london?
Anyone tried ATS?
-
You want somebody with the hunters wheel alignment system 👌
-
Elite direct in Rainham is my go to
-
Thanks for the replies, whats the rough cost ?

Lots of places in London do it including Kwik Fit. Expect to pay @£80 depending on how much time they spend adjusting the toe and rear camber.

If it isn't seized...

Just had mine done at Southampton Wheel Alignment Center. Front and rear for £50. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. Its not too far from London, people travel along away to see this guy. Luckily for me its 10 mins from home.
One of the rear bolts was tight and needed some heat. Front fine (Because I'd replaced the track rod ends)

@Dogma (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=16773) am i right in saying, the camber can only be adjusted at the back and the front has no camber adjustment?

I’m
Going to sound dumb here bud, that’s something I’m not really sure about, as I’ve never had it adjusted on this car before in my
Long ownership. It’s just when I got my tyres replaced the guy said he thought the camber was out and I should get it adjusted.

Yes that’s correct. Front camber is fixed unless you use adjustable top mounts or Superpro ball joints. Rear is adjustable. Aside from this, castor is fixed and only toe can be adjusted.

Ah many thanks, good info. I will look into this, as I was thinking of changing the shocks and springs as well depending on the route I take.
Cheers

Ah well, then I would definitely recommend putting on the superpro ball joints and whacking the front camber out as close to 2 degrees as you can get it. That’s the magic number used by the Clubsport S with its special spindles. I’ve been using some geo settings sourced by a leading mk5 race car team if you want any further info.

Many thanks will take a look at that and see if it still available for my car.

Well I went there today to get the tracking done. They couldn’t do the back as the bolts were seized. Anyways, the fronts were slightly off which the aligned but car pulls to the left now. I’ll have to go back tomorrow again.

I think it's Jezz, the owner.
The issue is that back couldn't be done as the bolts were seized. Think this is what's causing the car to drift to the left
What can i do with this issue? Is a new rear arm that's needed?
