Title: ** Alarm Siren Fault & Code - Replacement Advice **
Post by: XxMK5xX on January 10, 2019, 04:32:05 pm
Hi

Looking For Some Information On Replacing My Alarm Siren.

I Am Assuming That This Fault Means 'Replace' The Unit!

00134 - 100
Alarm Horn (H12)
---------------------
Sporadic 004 - No Signal / Communication

I Have Been Told That I Have This Part Number Fitted Is: IK0 951 605 A or C

But The New Part I Have Been Informed Is: IK0 951 605 F

Looking On The Internet The 'F' Part Number Seems A Different Shape (Compared To The A Or C).

Question Is Will The 'F' Fit?, Where Is It Located (Easy Job)? & Is My Fault The 'Siren'?

Thank You

Located under right side front wing, so if you remove right front wheel and the inner arch you should see a metal box showing up under there..
You should replace it with a index C to be sure it will work with your mk5 Linbus speed

Thank You - I'll Have A Look For The 'C' - Is It A Question Of Just Swapping? (Not Coding Or Anything)

The siren unit is, as stated above, contained within a metal box which itself is riveted to the car with pop rivets. Drill the rivets out and just use self tapping screws or if you have a rivet gun use that. See if any anti-corrosion measures are needed after drilling as well just to be safe. It's a crap place to put it, they could have put it in the boot like in most Audis.

Did you drill the pop rivets out?

Yes I used a punch to push the middle bit through and then just used an 8mm dill bit to dill the heads off.
