Anyone unfortunately have any experience with this? such a pain cause she looks so pretty but she's a bit flaky
-
I would agree but my car is a peice of metal and not male or female.
-
I have some laquer peel on the wing mirror. No where else though.
-
had a wee bit very sudden on the roof edge. Had it repainted quick smart but it honestly looked like someone had sprayed something on the car.

Had the roof painted shortly after I bough mine. Evidence that in the recent past the bonnet, front bumper and wing mirrors had all received attention.
Funny enough when I took it to my tame body shop, they had a 2006 Mini Cooper in that had pox ridden red paint on its roof as well. They showed me how on that car it had go so bad, they were using an air line to blow the lacquer off the roof.
I was the issue with Red cars is down to an oxide in the pigment that whist stops it from fading, it can react with the lacquer and start the de-lamination process.

Just 'gone through' the delamination process on the wing mirrors. My hose removed most of it during washes, the car no longer looks likes it is partly sunburnt but has lost the sheen (on the mirrors). Not appeared on any other parts so fingèrs crossed, would love to respray certain areas but a recent q5 purchase, mortgage, 2 kids, ski holidays, summer holidays...... ...puts end to that.

Bollocks. After writing the above post I cleaned the car to find the bonnet starting to go! Time for some big TLC around the front and refurbished alloys, she'll be looking great for the summer though.
