Title: check valve

My GTI has erratic idle code P0171 there is a check valve 058905291K coming from the vac. pump I assume its a non return valve I can suck and blow through it I assume its knackered Correct!

yes mate, that should be a one way valve. you can replace the whole thing with the vac lines for around £30 ish.

No  just a check valve which is an incorrect part [useless dealer] As above valve with 3 pipes £33 from TPS

Got mine from TPS its been modified theres an extra small bore pipe coming off it nowhere to go on my cat so its been blanked Asked dealer and TPS they don't know what its for any ideas?

1K0612041GM supercedes the older part and now comes with the surplus vac outlet.  It's a vac feed for engines with mechanically actuated intake flaps.

You used to be able to buy blanking caps from VW, but not sure you still can.   I would just cut it off flush and plastic weld the hole over.
