Hi, I was told it depends on what your car has programmed in. I got a replacement J revision from a breakers and my central locking button on the inside of the door wouldn't work, the boot would open either. The stealers said I needed a revision J. In the end I bought a generic one from ebay and works fine.

The dealers said this "

That was a brand new one off ebay. Generic one made in China not a oem one. Lasted about 2 months then failed. Returned it and got one for a different seller and all good now
