Title: Pressed plates what to stick on with
Post by: Woozor on November 03, 2019, 10:08:41 am
Hi guys I got some pressed plates and used the Halfords sticky pads 1mm but the front one is coming off after a few days the rear seems fine.

What's the best stuff to stick it on with?

make sure you clean both surfaces with alcohol wipes

I used some 3M tape for mine, with a really clean surface and they have been stuck solid since

Have a look at a number plate surround, they can be screwed directly onto the car then the plate is clipped into the holder.

sticky backed velcro  As titchy said wipe clean with alcohol, IPA or nail varnish remover if you own some
Ive been using 50mm x 250mm strips NEVER let me down and easy to remove if you need to..EBAY 122692257955

I got fed up of the front one coming off every couple of years so screwed them on in the end. Best result I had was the velcro strips though as others have said.

I used double-sided carpet tape. No problems even after 5 years. :happy2: :happy2:

Interesting suggestions, I’m tempted to try Velcro.
Double sided foam can be hit or miss - Halfords stuff ain’t good - properly branded 3M stuff works well
