Hi guys.
So I have fitted a new clutch and flywheel within the last 2 weeks, Sachs performance clutch (sintered 4 paddle), LUK flywheel and LUK slave/thrust bearing. It was fine for the first 400 miles ish, gentle driving plenty of gear changes etc to bed the clutch in however now once the car is fully warm i seem to get a rattle from the car when taking up drive pulling off in first, lower RPM its louder. No slip/ noise throughout the other gears its just when pulling off. I triple checked it all over before re fitting the box, all torqued to spec, clutch the right way around etc. To me it sounds like the flywheel but without taking the box off again its difficult to pinpoint. Anybody had an issue like this, should i be concerned yet?
Any help would be much appreciated

Just done mine with all LUK parts, but I was under the impression you could not mix the flywheel and clutch brands due to designs.
LUK do not use springs like OEM and Sachs use large springs for the clutch.....clearance issues or something.
I could have been told sh!t

Yeah ive also heard this mate however its not true there is a couple of options on Awesome GTI, where i got mine, to have the pressure plate designed for the LUK flywheel. Im hoping its just bedding in niggles but im slowly accepting that the box will most likely have to come off again to check. Bloody cars man haha

Have you also checked that small inspection plate on the drivers side of the box. I put mine on incorrectly at first and it rattled.....may have worked loose possibly.

I will do that this week mate for sure, i took the starter off over the weekend and had a feel and all seemed ok but it would make sense to check the inspection plate before going further.

Just an update on this, the noise has now nearly gone, i can hardly get it to actually do the noise anymore just seemed like it was bedding in gremlins. Until the next time haha

i had flywheel rattle when i fitted a new genuine kit, not loud just very slight rattle until you press the clutch, if you release it slowly it doesnt do it so much, i think with dmf its normal.
-
Glad it resolved itself......bedding in noises as the surfaces become 100% matched to each other.
Still bedding mine in and it is so painful not to give it full beans yet

Yeah i totally understand its a pain of a process haha totally worth it though IMO. I had a little test run yesterday giving it more power, clutch felt amazing tbh no slip just pure pull
