Title: To remap or not?
Post by: Gtcpaul1971 on April 10, 2019, 08:15:46 pm
My car has 133k on the clock and has done 20k miles in 18 months of trouble free motoring. I have had all the usual stuff done, PCV,  DV , cam follower, etc but need new plugs that's all - I hope!
However, I do a lot of miles with work and need it to be reliable. But.........I soooooo want more power but not sure the original clutch will cope with it?
Any thoughts? Advice appreciated. I want r tech to do it btw.

Tuning and reliability don't go hand in hand.... at 133K you have absolutely no guarantees of reliability anyway. Provided the car is healthy and has no underlying issues it should be fine. You'll probably need a clutch though at 133k once its mapped

To be fair, I have done quite a bit to it and it has had lots replaced in my 18 months of ownership but That's what I thought. So clutch and remap and your over a grand really!
