Title: Question regarding coverting a golf mk5 standard bumper to GTI
Post by: jsd on December 30, 2008, 09:31:28 am: I couldn't find this in the how to section, but I have an 04' GT TDI, standard grille and I would like to go for the GTI front bumper grill. :smiley:
Are these the parts I require: - If im wrong can somebody tell me what else I need?

I have managed to buy a front GTI bumper with lower spoiler - so thats the bumper sorted.
I will need to buy the actual grill
The lower centre grill cover
The 2 side covers for the fogs.

BUT

can I use my own foglights that I have on the GT TDI at the moment, do the GTI covers fit straight over?

Also - the strips where the headlight wash is (mine doesnt have this) where can I buy these from?

Post by: MickMc on December 30, 2008, 10:29:42 am: You will have to buy GTI foglights as they have more of an angle on them iirc , the headlight washer strips you can buy from VW for Ã‚Â£6 odds each , but you will also need the GTI slam panel unless you fancy cutting the original one

I have done this mod on my GT TDI.....see this link http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/157484.aspx to show what parts you need...quite a few. The fogs are different sizes so you will have to buy new ones. And sorry the parts are now more expensive. good luck :)

Post by: MongyUk on January 09, 2009, 09:40:21 pm: well they prob are in the newer models but I have a 2004 rabbit, never tried to fit them though as I prefer them without foglights. I have been trying to make some honeycombe fogless grills for ages!!!!
