decided to get my wheels re finished in "dark steel " and have got to say i m really pleased with them :happy2:

was dark by the time i got them fitted so only got pics in the garage

think i need to get the mirrors wrapped or done the same if they are metal ? :smiley:

thanks , finish is great not quite bbs standard :wink: but very good , dropped wheels off at 8.30 am , re coloured , refit & balanced tyres picked them back up at 3.30 pm brilliant service :congrats:

cheers , the colour is similar but the finish is gloss and better than oem audi b/e , have you seen the finish on them ? not good

A good choice imo: Darkens the wheel without losing the shapes. Anything metal related tends to look purposeful.
Hope to see better pics though, mate.

I'm glad you went for this option.
I think in that colour they look simply class on a well designed wheel.
I hear what you say on other threads about every A3 having RS4's but very few will be in that colour, so that should leave you in the 'rare' category :happy2:

i value your opinion tc , for the money i think the wheel suits the S3 better than any other and the darker shade makes it look a little more moody :happy2:

me too , ive not seen the car out of the garage properly yet cause its dark when i leave and dark when i get back , hoping to get some pics at the weekend :happy2:

Should have gone darker. Your paintwork is striking but the wheels don't offer enough contrast.
More contrast, more impact :happy2:

got a few pics today , i m not 100% on the wheels now but when i had my ed 30 ones done i didnt like them but loved them when i got used to it :happy2:

Should have gone darker. Your paintwork is striking but the wheels don't offer enough contrast.

they do look darker in real life , these pics show that more :happy2:

They look good - don't worry - any new mod sometimes takes a little while to appreciate!
The colour matches nicely with the front and rear valances. :happy2:

they are growing on me , in the shade it looks awesome bright sun does make them a bit light

^^^ yes mate thats what i was going for , in sun light its a match but in shade slightly darker whats your opinion on the mirrors mate ? as they are , gloss black (to match grill) or steel (wheels ) :happy2:

I think the mirrors should always be kept body colour otherwise, visually,
the car loses width. That silver has no place on your classy motor, change
the silver under the front and rear bumpers to satin black to tie in with
that awesome feature - the front grille. Get the wheels darker and your
tints will play nicely. Then this car will look more of a brute :happy2:

the silver mirrors is audi oem for S class cars , would never colour code them on an S3 :confused:

cheers , ive got some black replacement cover s coming for the mirrors , ill try um in black and if i m not happy can get them sprayed up in dark steel that way i still have my original silver ones left :happy2:

You can buy them black from Audi/ebay now though can't you, as in the 'Black' pack that Audi do on the A3 range?

the audi black edition ones are the same colour as mine , the one in the pics looks aqesome but i wanted to keep some oem s car features , the splitters and really the silver mirrors too but they do stand out a bit too much now , ill try the black ones it i dont like um the silver ones will go back on :happy2:

i like em :grin:
black rims on red cars dont really do it for me as they can disappear in the grand scheme of things, having them tinted away from silver will always be a win for me :happy2: (so much so i did it to mine :laugh:)
i think the colour is bang on dude :happy2: as for the rims being common... thats only as they are a natural suit for the car, thats not a bad thing :innocent:
wing mirrors though... a fat no from me, i think black would work there to match your grill :smiley:

i ve got my gloss black mirror covers now .... and i m not liking them !! am going to try a vinyl panel on the front of them ( :happy2:vc) if this is no good they ll be off to the paint shop to go dark steel :wink:
