Anyone got the part number for just the in tank pump? I don't need the housing and fuel level sensor, the only ones I can find all come with all those parts.
-
I've never seen the OEM pump sold separately, and neither an aftermarket one that fits in the housing properly. If you can, let us know!
I was hoping to find a nice Walbro GSS to drop in there to give the HPFP an easier life, but no such luck.

There are some 'Kemso' branded ones of ebay but Google reveals hardly any info about them.
-
Hmmm, sounds a bit dodge, and probably cost 30 quid?
People can and do fit aftermarket pumps into the stock housing, that's not an issue. The problem is you get fuel starvation (aka surging) on corners when the tank is about 1/4 full and lower.
Try googling continental, VDO and "pierburg in-tank pump MK5 GTI"
If you see just the metal pump listed, happy days. If not, assume nothing exists. I think the factory part is unique in some way.

Just bought one from ebay.de for £120. TPS wanted £200.
Shoduchi fitted DeatschWerks DW65v LPFP, it's over £250 though.

Yup. Pretty sure it's just a rebadged Walbro, which makes it very expensive indeed, for what it is. As I say, that pump only fits in early housings (with the removable lid), and there could be some surge issues. I've asked him, so will see what he says!
