Title: 'Service Now' notice is it too early?
Post by: Geoffcarragh on July 29, 2012, 06:23:40 pm
Yesterday my car said service in 1800 miles. Today it has been saying Service Now.

I haven't done any track days or particularily hard driving.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Cheers,

Geoff

Mine did this also. I think its because its set to time and distance you've reached 1yr before reaching the mileage.

That's probably it, I've done a lot less mileage this year. Thanks. :happy2:

Major service and insurance this month. Not fun.

I'm on long life servicing, not sure if you are but I get similar. It starts counting down to service showing a certain mileage and an amount of days. Once the days countdown reachs 0 it asks for a service even if it was still showing a lot of mileage left. In reality it still fine to drive it a while longer according to the miles that it previously showed. That's roughly what I've always done.

I know the feeling, try having the 4 year service smack you in the face.  :scared:
