Title: Wheel Spacers
Post by: xxx_mojo_xxx on February 16, 2009, 12:21:18 pm
I'm looking into whether it's worth installing wheel spacers on my standard Monza II's.

My initial thought is that this would increase my track at the axles and handling as a consequence.

I already have the car lowered so I would run the risk of scrubbing the arches, and secondly I think it would be illegal to have the tyres exposed outside of the arches... :rolleye:

Has anyone had any experience of this...are the benefits noticeably?

Cheers,

Room wise, I reckon you can safely do 15mm all round on your Monzas with no scrubbing/poke. Get hubcentric ones too, any others you'll be cursing.

You need to measure the length of the spigot first as they can vary a bit from car to car.

....Hmmm - No significant handling improvements imo. Anti-roll bars would be a much better spend of money.

On the Mk5 GTI I reckon people just do it for looks.
