Just been and took the air box off as I thought the whistling might be down to a cracked airbox. Nothing there. It idle’s a bit erratically, hunts between 730 and 770rpm, is this normal? Occasionally drops to 690. I tried disconnecting the MAF and the revs dropped, bogged down a touch but quickly went back and if anything idled better without the MAF. Brought the P0100 co

Hi all, Another what to do question. I recently broke the front mount on my vaccum pump when I over tightened it. I put in a new O'#039 Ring and put it back on. It'#039s not leaking and my brakes aren'#039t acting different. Is it safe to continue or should I stop and get a new one? Picture attached. Thanks [img width=589 height=78

k03 stop pulling hard after 5k anyway, start building boost at 1700rpm when the dv closes, but you wont feel it until just after 2000rpm peak torque is around 3000rpm and will really drop off at 5000rpm,

Technically yesterday, but found the source of my “slow puncture”. Can’t believe the tyre fitter didn’t mention anything… Diagnostic day for me today once the kids have gone to grandma’s. Try and find why I’m down on power… fingers crossed it’s jus
Forging (Who to use?)

As the title says folks it'#039s time I got the Eddy forged. Don'#039t have the time or frankly the expertise to do this to a high enough standard so I want it to go so somewhere that specialises with this type of work.
I'#039m near Glasgow but don'#039t mind sending the car away to get done. Any suggestions would be appreciated especially any feedback with people who have a forged

I've used Dulux endurance (I think it's called that) and it's pretty good. When you rub it you do see some paint on the cloth, but cleans up well.
Recently used some Johnstone's paint. It's billed as wipeable / hard wearing bit it's too aoon to tell if it's any good.

Good to know the consensus is I'#039ve not missed something obvious!
I may give it a stab later on in the year. Seems a no brainer for more braking power, less unsprung weight over the golf r/r32 setup for the sake of 300 odd quid.
TTS setup sounds interesting but yeah I imagine not to many come up for sale!
Yeah they'#039re advertised as the 345x30mm d

I looked at some old logs just now. Fuel ratio for then, throughout a full rev run, was generally 12.1 to 11.6 nearer to redline.
The addition of the upgraded pump and controller was per the tuner. The DM tune was an '#039E-tune'#039 if you will. He sent the loader and emailed a base file for me to load onto the ECU. I would do so and log data to send back via email. He would

@ashan82: I know the feeling I was on the look out for a 16V and a VR6 These days it’s NOT so easy to find a good taken care example!! But they are out there Some owners are asking silly money for nice taken care examples… I was searching for 2 years😅#128517 and there were 2 which slipped trough my fingers😫#128555 One VR and one 16V… the sound of the VR6 is
Would anyone be interested in swapping their DSG for my manual?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I can'#039t post in For Sale thread because I'#039m a newbie nbsp . Long time lurker but first time poster. As per title, I have a very lovely condition manual GTI which I'#039m looking to swap to a DSG one so that my other half can drive it too. Ideally looking for one in similarly good condition with comparable history, but would

Yep, I think I'#039d be starting with some data logging and then mechanical checks if that all checks out. nbsp A compression / leak down test might not be a bad idea.
I did ask my mechanic to che

RNS510 head unit upgraded, hands free, Bluetooth. High line clocks Mk 6R multifunction steering wheel Cobra flush fit Oem style colour coded rear parking sensors
I purchased the car in February 2020, the previous owner had the car remapped, fitted the R32 front brakes, the interior upgrades, Eibach sport line springs and the wheel spacers. I didn’t like the harsh ride quality so fitted the Vwr suspension kit which is more compliant than the stock suspension while maintaining a nice subtle ride height. This sent me on a mission of other work making improvements to the car which is all listed above. Owned by enthusiasts for the last several years this is a cherished car that has had some of the best parts fitted to generally improve it. Meticulously maintained, oil and filter changes every 6 months in my ownership. The interior Is free from rips and tears with only minor bolster wear to seats. The door cards do have some slight discolouration to the tops which is a common issue. All in all a very clean mechanically sound car that needs a little cosmetic tlc to make it perfect.
Paintwork sadly is starting to exhibit lacquer peel on the roof and one or two other small areas, it looks immaculate from 20 paces though. The front wings do have some minor rust bubbling to the edges which has been rubbed back, a rust treatment added and painted to stop it spreading. A very common Vw problem. The foam inserts that cause this have been removed. I have priced it sensibly so the new owner can tackle this, i could get these defects done for you before ownership but this is negotiable.
Most of its service history has been kept in a box file with relavent paperwork, the timing belt was last changed in 2017 @ 77879 miles. Thermostat and housing was changed in Feb 2020 Cam follower in Feb 2020 Pcv valve November 2021
Selling as I’m 50 next year and have permission from her indoors to buy my favourite weekend toy so have to make some sacrifices! Part exchange or even swaps possible, im interested in a Bmw 320/330d/Saab 9-3 Ttid, Estate preferred but not essential but must be auto.
Any inspection welcome, test drives will be by myself unless you can prove insurance cover to me. Car currently has a personal plate fitted which will be staying with the car as it belonged to the previous owner who didn’t want it. I have blanked the number plate in the photos due to previous cloning issues on another car so am just being careful, will happily provide these details if you are interested I’m currently waiting on a part to fix the climate control which isn’t blowing cold air, I’m hoping it’s the common compressor solenoid so will update once known. Sensible offers please.
