After being stood for a few months my old battery has taken a bit of a kicking and is on its way out. Replacement time so...
The current battery is a Varta E38 from Tayna (before I bought the car). Tayna still suggest this size. Everyone else says the Varta E44 is the right battery. The only difference is height as far as I can see.
Can some one clear up my confusion please. Also anything better for less than the £80 for either of the Varta options.
Cheers!

I bought the Varta E44 Silver from Tanya for £81 delivered about a year ago. I have been using the car much less than normal but it has worked each time and not let me down since.

It's the cold crank amperage that you want to look at, can't recall what is it on the E44 but from what I recall it's the largest battery that fits in the standard tray with the greatest CCA.
I bought one 6 years ago, still going strong.
