MQB injectors are completely different.

You gotta pay to play, so stump up for the proper K04 injectors and give yourself an easier life. You can get them from aftermarket suppliers for less than dealer prices, but not a lot. They are what they are and in demand and priced accordingly.

Also check with your tuner they can rescale the K03 rail pressure sensor, or insist on the K04 rail sensor.  Most competent tuners can do the former, saving you some faff and money.

Get the Continental kit if genuine is a stretch.  Conti make the belts for VW anyway, and the Conti aftermarket kit also uses the genuine INA idler pulleys and Conti water pump.

What Bosch use is anyone's guess.

Nope. You need either the TTRS pump module or the TorqByte aftermarket one.  The stock PWM controller isn't man enough to run an RS pump.

Yes the LPFP maps will need recalibrating.

The GTI fuel level sender should fit on but AKS tuning can advise on that.

There are 2 sizes of end cap, just measure the one you have currently and order that size. 79mm and 84mm iirc.

Don't know what you mean by shim. If you mean shaft play shim kit, you don't need it on an 08 car.  Only 04-06 cars need that.

Use the  G 052 171 A2 stuff.  Yes its expensive but its much better than cheaper alternatives.

Can't see why not... you'll just get an engine light on probably with p0420 code for cat efficiency.

Yep. The ECU doesn't really care about cat efficiency and will only affect drivability a tiny bit, but it has to throw the EML by law.

Yeah if it's not crunchy dried out inner CV joints, it will be subframe movement.

Nope, no danger of wrecking the engine.  Default position in the event of runner flap motor failure is flaps fully open. If the flaps were stuck closed you would know about it as you'd have no power past 2000rpm.

Try a basic settings/adaptation in VCDS for the flappy flappers a few times and check you get "OK".  If no OK, the motor is buggered. When doing that test, you should see the motor actuator arm moving.

10 days to go flat isn't bad tbh.  If it went flat in 3 days then you definitely have a duff battery or an alternator charging issue. If the battery measures more than 12V with the car gone to sleep, I wouldn't waste money on a battery.

All looks good - but you will have to be careful, from what I read online upgrading turbo without injectors can lead to running too lean which is dangerous for the engine. Make sure the tuner is aware you are on stock injectors and you are limited. Perhaps 300hp is too optimistic without the fuel related mods?

Also the video you posted is private so I can't check it out.

It's all good in the hood. Just pull the N75 plug and you'll be restricted to 8 psi of boost and then fit the K04 injectors at the mapping place before the remap.  Probably makes more sense to fit the K04 injectors at home though and save on labour costs, but either way, it's drivable on K03 or K04 squirters before the mapping.

The main issue is whether or not the mapper can work around the rail pressure sensor.  Some insist on using the K04 sensor, and some can rescale the K03 sensor.

Mk5 General Area / Re: 62% insurance increase anyone?
« Last post by pudding on Yesterday at 10:03:45 pm »
Yeah the insurance on my 330d went from £665 last year to £1250 this year  Mental.

Cheapest quote on Go F'ck yourself was £800 through a no name broker with virtually no cover

Car parts and labour costs have increased is their excuse. So what. My skills at work have improved in the last year, that doesn't mean I can demand a 62% pay rise! Greedy forkers.

The whole point of insurance is we all pay into a contingency pot to cover life's unexpected events, so what the fook are they doing with all that money?  Oh the world has changed slightly, boo hoo, 9848% more cash from you please. Utter runts, grrrrrrr.
