Title: Back in a MK5 But not a GTi This time
Post by: chrisr on April 16, 2017, 10:27:42 am
Hi Everyone.

After I sold my Black MK5 GTi last year I had a short time owning an Impreza, After modifying it and spending approx 7k on it I had it running 332 bhp & ran out of things to do with it & got bored so started to look for my next project.

I sold the Impreza last Thursday night & bought my new MK5 Golf On Friday morning.
Its not a GTi this Time but a MK5 DBP R32

Some R32 highline clocks would finish that off nicely, I do have some if interested?

How easy are they to fit and code?

Fitting is really easy, the hard part is the coding, however there are people on here who can do it

Lovely. Welcome along

Best colour for an R32 for me.

@RetroRaz is one of a few chaps on here who can help out with fitting and coding clocks etc.

First Job was to clean the tips.

Used a Wheel brush & wheel cleaner

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fchris246%2FR32%2F20170414_124753_zpsd73nibem.jpg&hash=3bb9ff4e9f64023a16416abc9bd985adcda41eed)

Then Took it for MOT, I bought it with a day left on the MOT as I couldnt wait until this Tuesday for the previous owner to do it for me.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fchris246%2FR32%2F20170414_131925_zpsh7cybfek.jpg&hash=ba995f1ffa1a3f17888f5d3ab97019eaf4bdc434)

It did actually fail on a tyre, But as I was going to get the tyre done there he passed it for me, Only went for a part worn one as I plan to change the wheels & have 4 new tyres anyway.

Best part is the total cost of the MOT & Tyre was £0  :jumping:

How you getting on with the non res miltek...
Title: Re: Back in a MK5 But not a GTi This time
Post by: chrisr on April 17, 2017, 11:45:15 pm
I have only driven it on the day I bought it, I went on the motorway & its nice, Can still hear the radio no problem with no droning noise in the car.

Around town it sounds superb & very adictive.

Bought some metal pressed plates & .:R logo mats with blue piping on them.
Toying with the idea of ordering an oem style Xtrons radio for it as well.

That is good to know about the non res as that's what I was worried about the drone on the motorway

First modification done today.

The old Aerial had been patched up at some point

 (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fchris246%2FR32%2F20170419_195806_zpsccerya50.jpg&hash=ec53107c4dce48f2843ed9babb4b97598c685b04)

Got a shorter one from an Octavia Estate, Miles better in comparison

And fitted, Still OEM Looks with no compromise on radio reception

Suggestion you might like DBP wrap either side of the gloss black on the black of the wingbacks.

PS looks fantastic
