Post by: staticlupo_ on September 23, 2021, 08:30:02 pm
I bought an engine for my mk5gti, the engine has a hybrid turbo. Im looking for 360bhp so need the most reliable and best  HPFP internals?

If you want 100% reliability and no guess work, get a LOBA pump.

The Loba chews through cam followers, as does any pump with stronger spring than stock. For that reason I would choose VIS for value, and Integrated Engineering for long term reliability.

I initially chose VIS for price but would recommend them for their great customer service. Ovidiu is very responsive and hands-on.  Also gentle on followers, like Pudding mentioned.

Maybe 5 years or so back, but I have had more Loba failures than any other pump.

VIS flows the best overall.  We supply brand new pumps ready fitted with VIS internals too to make life much easier.

VIS internals owner here. No issues in the two years since it's been in the car.

The VIS are excellent value and easy to fit.  Just need to be careful with the piston seal and tapping the little button follower down to the correct height.....and the correct way round. There instructions show the button tapped upside down.  The little protuded 'nub' needs to face the follower.

The reason I also recommend the IE pump is because they've considered the long term effects of running an unequal shaft diameter.  Their piston shaft is the same diameter top to bottom as per stock as it's stronger. It also uses the stock spring for longer follower life.

So to answer the original 'best hpfp out there' question, it's the IE item.  But erm, it's $999  :surprised:
