Door warning lights added

Today i added Door warning/ puddle lights to the Scirocco , i have always wanted these and it looked relatively easy so i bought the bits.

I am quite pleased with the results and it was all done using the parts/ connectors and power/ earth points that VW intended (well if they fitted them to the golf or scirocco anymore), i also used Genuine VW felt tape to add the new cable to the old loom, then covered the rest of the cable so i wont gent any noises etc.

Led reg lights added

decided on yet another little mod, anyway these finally came through today from VW (on back order), i wanted something brighter and not so yellow as the originals but dont really like the aftermarket bits , i recently noticed on ETKA that VW had just added LED lights to the scirocco so i ordered a set to try them.
I popped them in, (its a simple unplug old one and put new one in job), they are so much brighter than the original ones and give off a crisper whiter light without looking silly like aftermarket stuff can, sorry its daytime pictures but you get the idea :thumb:

I like the piano black ash tray lid - nice touch especially with the R logo.

The 2nd (higher up) bottle open grip - just wondering what is actually designed for ???

Also how much are the warning triangle and first kits - mine are missing from the location on the left hand side of the boot?

Theres only supposed to be one, when in the top position its used as a separator for two bottles, the First aid and the triangle were about £30 for both iirc

I have never had the seats down but people on the rocco forum have talked about bikes and they take the front wheel off and it fits fine apparently, boot is pretty similar to the golf, passenger space in the back is same as golf too, remember though it's only 2 seats in the rear

Shaun,

I've just signed up for a new Rocco on Saturday, only a 2.0 TDI GT but with DSG and extra toys. They gave me the loan of their black "R" demonstrator for the weekend to see if I liked the DSG box.

Fook me, it was bloody quick

Couldn't afford the "R" (or the fuel) so had to settle for a sootchucker again which should be here about May (they didn't say which May though).

Been looking at your mods and planning similar ones myself (you know that imitation is the best form of flattery). One quick question though. I've seen that you have added the rear cup holders to the back of the armrest, but is there the possibility of also adding the rear airvents as well ? I know it would involve both pieces of the air ducts, but coming from a 5 door car to a 3 door with fixed back windows, I though it might be nice for rear seat passengers to get a little fresh air ?

Shaun, what is the paint colour for your dark wheels?  Just picked up the other halfs pepper white mini and she wants black wheels but I'm thinking the same colour as your wheels as I dont like the combo of black wheels and grey tyres when the tyre gel wears off

No idea of the code I'm afraid, it's  a colour that Thewheelspecialist do called Charcoal anthracite

Shaun, am I right in thinking you painted the hubs while still on the car?

I've got a Savage caliper paint kit and wondered how easy it was  :happy2:

Yes whilst on the car, just get them clean and get a few little brushes to paint them and you will be fine  :happy2:, i also had a thin ended wire brush which helped on the clean up  :happy2:

just had a good read through this. what a nice car!
love the door lights in particular.
how difficult was it to fit the folding mirrors and puddle lights.
are they expensive?

The folding mirrors where quite easy to fit, its just door panel off and unplugging them then putting it all back together and then reprogramming, the cost for brand new parts was about £280 all in
