Title: Stage 1 remap
Post by: Shrek1493 on September 05, 2019, 11:24:54 am: I know this has been covered so many times and I apologise as I'm so confused about it know, I'm looking for a good value stage 1 remap that is bot aggressive but like the standard pick up with added power and not a sudden surge of power.
I had a Saab 93 Aero that had very nice power delivery and would something close to that as that golf is similar but I just would like a bit more.

Post by: colesey on September 05, 2019, 12:34:48 pm: Although I have had Revo stg 1 on my car, both this and APR are rather expensive for the value of our cars nowadays. Rtech are acclaimed tfsi specialists and offer a custom remap package with intake / injector clean for a similar price.

I've heard of Bluefin but not to many reviews about it, so that's something I could consider, can you run on 95 or 98 fuel

Informed me of a new leaking pipe needed and cam follower which was great. Looked over the whole car and told me of all the things needed. Lots of little things, which as an enthusiast is great! Worth it just for that. Told me my AXX engine was one of the best they have seen in a while which was also reassuring. I will report back when I get home.

My old girl is running 204 bhp standard so really pleased. So far so good!

Cost is £375+vat = £450
Plus I needed a new cam follower and pipe which was £95 no fitting charged.
More to the point my car had a knackered part of the fuel pump which needed replacing. Luckily they had an engine in that they swopped the part for for free or it would have £300 plus for a new part. So very lucky and great of them!

Knackered seal in the hpfp is pretty common and needs a new pump.

Post by: Shrek1493 on September 27, 2019, 06:11:46 am: Thank you for all the advice regarding this topic, I think for me and convenience I will go the Bluefin route and if I decide to change to another GTI (Maybe an Golf R) I can take the map with a small upgrade cost to the next one, I just wish I had brought a GTI years ago as I feel like I have missed a lot of fun in driving one now.
