Title: Which upholstery cleaner for the tartan cloth seats?
Post by: Lewo on November 14, 2017, 11:51:19 pm
Last aerosol cleaner I used left some blotchy marks, so anything recommended and what cloths to use?

Any old upholstery cleaner from a reputable company like autoglym in your local halfords is fine.

Make sure you hoover really well so you're not scrubbing dirt into them

Use a clean nailbrush to scrub them

Act quick and don't let it soak in.

Wipe clean with a clean microfibre

Repeat as necessary but don't use too much liquid

I just use Ariel washing liquid in a bowl of hot water.   It works on soiled pants, right?  :grin:

Pretty much what he said, worked great on mine, although I did mine on a hot day in summer so they dried really quick.

Don't know what's happened there, the replies have disappeared  :signLOL:
Anyhow I've bought some halfords trigger spray upholstery cleaner so will see how that goes.

I use Meguiars Carpet & Interior Cleaner along with this brush attachment for a drill;

Then the yellow brush for carpets, and just any microfibre works well, you just want to try and get it to foam up then pick up the foam with the cloth to remove the dirt best.
