Firstly, sorry it's not a mk5 :ashamed:
It's goodbye to my old mk5 reflex silver GTI -

This truly was the BEST car I've ever owned
But after a few niggly problems started to crop up I decided it was time to move on (sort of!).
It's not to everyone's taste, but I actually love the way the mk6 looks and after having a test drive decided to take the plunge. Got a pearlescent black 5dr dsg. It's pretty standard at the moment but its not going to stay that way very long!
These poor quality pictures are the only one I've taken so far but ill get some up after I've given it a good wash as its absolutely filthy. This is the only regret about getting the car, it doesn't stay clean very long! Putting this picture up as I think the rear lights are my favourite part of the new car :signLOL:

Welcome to the mk6 club, Nice car you have there. I totally agree the rear led lights look awesome even to the point when I see a mk6 without them I always cringe a little. I see you had 18's on your mk5 and 17's on your new car, have you notice any difference in the ride quality?

Don't remind me about the wheels! I wish I had kept them and put them on this! Nevermind. As far as ride goes, not really much differance at all to be honest

Thanks interesting to know, I had thought about some 17's as the roads near me are terrible at the moment and I'm fed up of swerving all over the place, there's three sets of monza shadows on ebay at the moment if your interested.
I can also recommend chemical guys butter wet look wax for black paintwork (my mk5 was black)
:happy2:

Looks great Iain! I know what you mean about keeping it clean, dad's washed his about 3 times now and it just gets sh*te up too easy :P I think with the silver mk5 it was harder to see the dirt :P
Just need some 18inch and it'll look

Looks nice in black. Not seen a mk6 GTI in pearly black in the flesh. They are a swine to keep clean and it'll be a real love/hate thing kepping her clean. But when she's all nice and shiney you won't want it any other colour.

Looks good Iain. I must admit, I'm starting to look at MK6 GTI's and R's now as well. There are 3/4 at my local dealers in Aberdeen and a ED35 has also just come in there. Was up having a look yesterday and will need to look at numbers before deciding. Like you, I seem to have a consistent stream of minor niggles cropping up due to the cars age. I do love the MK5 though.
Good luck keeping it clean - mine is also DBP and it looks great shiny, but only has to look at the road and it's filthy again!!
