What I did was fit some foam tape on top of the existing stuff........like this

Most prob the MAF as said, as it sounds like it is failing/failed and unable to read the air flow correctly......running rich to be safe

With it unplugged you will be using baseline settings, but will not be getting the best out the engine as it does not know exactly how much air is entering the car to calculate combustion.

You need the mirror units which are all the same I believe, but there are three generations of window modules for the Mk5

Being a 2005 I would say it is the first generation which may be harder to find.......none the less a nice project if your prepared to hunt for parts over time.

Forgot to add, when I replaced the spark plugs I poked my little borescope camera down the holes and took photos. Is there anything to be discerned from these? I think cylinder 3 does look a bit darker than the other 3 cylinders, but the spark plugs all had a healthy colour

So confirm it was a bad tester. I got a different one and it ran perfectly, 180PSI in each cylinder after 5 cranks. All good on the head and likely just a bad injector, new repair kit, inlet manifold gasket and injector on order and will fix along with the cam chain

I have a 2008 gti mk5 that I'#039m trying to tune. I'#039ve been experiencing some timing pull and my lambda o2 sensor is not reaching specified (leaning out). nbsp

New TBO k04 turbo
New s3 injectors (06F906036F)
New RS4 fuel pressure relief valve
New Integrated engineering HPFP upgrade kit
