Title: Scratched grille after removing front plate mount

Edit: Ok solved my original problem myself but now faced with a new problem. The old mount is off but has left a big outline of scratches from where dirt and stones have been caught in between the grille and mount. Is it possible to fix this? Plastic polish or compound?
