Title: Milltek Race Turbo back TOO LOUD!!

Hi Guys,

Fitted a Milltek Race turbo back to my Edition 30 a few days back and its way too loud - sounds like a tractor.

No leaks atall.

Its a Race CAT down pipe, non resonated and a Race back box, bought from a guy from VWR with only 1000 miles on it so as new.

From my understanding, they dont pack the race back boxes very well, if atall. So effectively its a straight through system with no silencing.

Can anyone confirm this? Anyone fitted one before?

Also interested to see if anyone with a resonated 2.75" centre pipe fancies doing a swap so I can try and quieten it down?

Ive got a Milltek resonated centre section you can have for £60 inc postage. Doubt you will get a swap as non res centre is £120 and res centre is over £300!

Thats a good price Gaz, someone else did offer me a swap, but if that falls through I will definitely take yours.

Can you confirm there are no cracks in any of the welds?

No mate its perfect, i removed it from a Mk5 Gti i had a few years back and fitted a non res section. Nothing at all wrong with it.
